- This is a great edger, but just an OK trimmer. Doesn't cover a real wide swath and takes a bit of getting used to. It is very light, though, so most anyone can use it.
- The speed variation is nice - I have a particularly challenging swath of grass that grows pretty thick and needs extra persuasion. When I opt to use the more battery-intensive power mode, it powers right through those challenging swaths.
- This product is not restricted by an attached cord, there is no smelly fuel mixture to mess with, it is very lightweight and pretty quiet, it has two power settings, and the line comes out very nicely.
- The Black & Decker is a dream. Instant start, lightweight, auto feed line, and very quiet. My lot is 1/3 acre and I can trim the primeter and all around the house on a single charge.
- Don't usually write these but felt a need this time. Wastes line terribly with autofeed.
- I haven't had problems with battery charge length, would have liked a larger swathe, but it is lightweight and manageable.
- One quibble--I have given up trying to balance the device on the wheel when trimming edges at sidewalks, because I can't get it to cut a straight line.
- I bought 3 replacement spools of trimmer line at the time I made my first purchase and still haven't used them all. Replacing them is easy... no more fighting with the business end of a trimmer for 10 minutes only to find out you didn't spool the line correctly.
- The first unit worked for a while before stopping, but this one didn't work at all. When it was supposed to advance I could hear a click, but the line didn't feed. Disappointed. Returning!
- But trying to get overgrown grass lined up is a long and hard battle with this thing.
- This is a perfect size and weight for a women to hold and trim around the edge of the yard. Works great.
- This line trimmer works very well. I like the adjustable size so that my son can line trim, and when he gets bored or eventually does a terrible job because he's young and doing it for fun, I can adjust it back to adult size.
- This is for a small or medium size yard in the city. It's for trimming the grass along your driveway, sidewalk, and landscaping.
- Yes!!!! This is just the right size for doing some minor grass trimming where the riding mower can't quite edge upon.
- This little beauty is terrific! Light weight but gets the job done very well.
- This thing is LIGHT. Now... granted, I am comparing it to an old Toro battery powered trimmer that might actually contain a car battery, but I also have a gas powered trimmer that is 2-3 times heavier than the B+D.
- Keep in mind that all trimmers are heavy and unwieldly due to the design and function: the weight of the trimmer is all at the end of the stick.
- One small grip I have is the balance of the trimmer. Since it's electric pretty much all of the weight is in the head, where the motor is.
- The weight makes yard projects easy to complete without fatigue.
- A friend of mine bought this particular black & decker whacker and he was telling me how much he liked it and it was very light in weight and did a good job.
- The edging feature works much better than I thought it would, so I'm very impressed with that feature.
- I used the edger feature to go around my lawn and sidewalk/driveway and along the house: so easy. . .
- Love the feature to run the trimmer horizontally or vertically. Buy this.....you won't be disappointed!
- One other nice feature is that it extends to make it not so back-breaking. I'm 6' and the length might not be enough for someone taller without leaning over which kills my back.
- The twist handle allows to turn the cutting face upside down, and then by using the roller, you can easily run the trimmer back and forth to get a clean edged line between grass and concrete sidewalk or driveway. It looks very sharp after you complete the edging chore!
- It take a little time to get used to the edger feature but again easy to use.
- The auto line feature is great! No more bumping and wearing out the bottom....so that means no replacing that part! The wheel for the edging feature is perfect for running along the fence.... I get a perfect cut every time.
- Another nice feature, for me, is the fact that it doesn't spit grass clipping all over the place, in my eyes and hair. Having said that, that last feature comes at a price with regards to power.
- The edging feature is a nice touch too. Each battery will last about 20 minutes, but provides plenty of power to trim the lawn.
- The edging feature world's very well. The wheel guide works good, but isn't a necessity.
- The battery had a few minutes of extra juice left when I finished. I purchased this model in order to get the better battery, LBXR2520.
- I am glad I did...this has power, battery lasts and lasts, and the edge trimmer is among the best I’ve seen.
- The last two times I tried to use it, I had charged the battery to full, then let it sit on the trimmer for two days.
- This is third weedwacker I've had in 5 yrs. All with autofeed which is the main failure on these. Batteries last ok. Will now be going to gas powered.
- I did order 2 extra batteries and find they last 20 minutes on the high setting. I'm very happy with it and don't mind the weed whacking chore at all any more.
- One battery gets me more than a three foot swath around a 200' perimeter including operating around the electric fence and up the vertical garden fencing so grass and vines don't make contact with the electric fence.
- This Black & Decker LST420 trimmer / edger is part of the 20V Max tool system that uses the same line of rechargeable 20 volt batteries. It is a nice cordless trimmer with 2 power settings.
- The power is ok, especially on level 2, but really disappointing coming from the 18v B&D grasshog I've been using for 9 years.
- On the two litium batteries, I can weedeat the entire landscaped property without the pain of mixing oil and gas for fuel, fighting with the pull start and lugging all that weight around. If this can take care of my property I'm sure it can handle others!
- This battery is awesome. I have kept it plugged in and sitting in the garage since my purchase with no problems. It is small, light, easily installed with a click and powerful.
