- Works like a charm. I have seen where other people have had issues with animals eating the bait and tripping the cage, but without trapping an animal inside the cage. There is no way any earth born animal can escape this cage if the trap springs while it is inside.
- This trap saved my cat's life! She's been running around the neighborhood for a month, and I was unable to coax her back inside. It's Ohio and the weather gets down to below freezing and she wasn't going to survive out there. So, I decided to buy this trap to see if I could catch her.
- This trap has helped me remove several opossums easily. Within the last three weeks a couple of opossums "wandered" into the trap without any bait. TRUE!!
- This trap works great for me. I trap feral cats in my neighborhood so I can get them spayed or neutered.
- The only downside is that I wish there was a more elegant way to open the trap when you want to let the animal out , I mean far away in an animal preserve.
- This is very flimsy and poorly constructed product and I am returning it. I have a similar trap from Amazon made by a different company that I have used for several years and it still is in good condition.
- I've trapped a dozen cats and had them all fixed using this trap. They won't escape the trap if you look carefully at how that locking bar works.
- This "kit" includes the trap itself folded down very compactly, a cover, and a divider/separator. All were REALLY handy in our endeavor to take care of our cats.
- Took a few minutes to setup but the directions were easy to follow. I like that this trap was easy to use and is easy to fold up to store.
- Quality control is suspect: one trap was missing the burlap cover, a back frame clip had to bent back into shape and I also had to bend the small trigger rod with pliers to remove excess freeplay so the trap would trigger.
- This trap does what it should, has a nice light trigger, and folds for storage. All good points.
- I'd never used a trap before, but it was easy to bait and set, lightweight for easy maneuverability, with solid construction. It was the perfect size for a possum, raccoon or stray cat.
- From my experience, this cage is great if you're looking to catch small or medium sized animals. Large ones may get nipped in the butt if they spring the trap and the door slams down.
- I highly recommend this size for cats. We take the cats in the trap directly to the spay/neuter mobile clinics in our area, and they transfer the cats while still groggy from anesthesia into the carriers we bring when we pick them up.
- I have 3 havahart traps different sizes; it is true that this racoon trap may not be heavy duty, but IT WORKS within reason. Totally worth the money and very happy.
- This trap is great! Its medium size so all cats fit nicely, even a chubby would fit.
- I don't recommend it for large size cats, however I believe it will fit.
- pain to put together but once assembled, it's good. Good size. Maybe a bit small for larger cats.
- Well made and a large size to accommodate larger cats. I have used many Havahart products and always been satisfied.
- Very nice product. Perfect size and fairly easy to set up.
- I bought this to catch feral cats which have been lurking around my property and relieving themselves on my lawn and gardens. All I've caught is an opossum.
- It works just as it should, but it is made of lighter weight materials than I expected. Still, it should stand up to a fairly exuberant tomcat or raccoon. I trapped a large groundhog with it.
- We use it to catch opossums and raccoons in our chicken coop. I shoot them, but if you want to release what you catch then you can do that too. Just keep all fingers away from the business end! Works excellent and has kept our coop varmint free!
- I caught two ground hogs. It works well. I used lettuce bait for the fist one. I used quartered apples as bait for the second one caught the next day. I used a blanket to cover the trap. I took the groundhogs to a preserve and let them go.
- This trap has already broke at the handle on top and when 1 small raccoon got into this trap it totally wrecked the trigger plate so badly that I cannot use it any longer.
- I cannot get the trap to latch after it catches the raccoon. I used my finger to set it like the instructions said to do. The trap sprang closed but I was able to push the door right out. If there was any kind of animal in the trap it would've been able to walk right out.
- I wish it had the quick-set/quick-release handle of some of the Havahart traps, but the size, back door, and divider features are all really nice to have.
- The cage holds the animal very securely, so there's no worry about getting hurt releasing it, or your hand being bit.
- I have trapped cats for a rescue group for fifteen years, and I thought this would be great as it has all the features we need....but it was a waste of funds sorely needed!!
- This "Easy Set/Release" is a feature of some Havahart traps, but not of this one! I refer to Havahart's own website [...], which lists models 1085 and 1092 as having the "Easy Set/Release" feature, but not the 1099.
- I still don't know how the " safety lock " is supposed to be attached. Several attempts to install it were not successful.
