- A large, beautiful, responsive screen in the smallest size. When you pull this phone out of your pocket, hold it in your hand, reach across the screen with one hand, and look at the great screen, you'll probably get what I'm saying.
- The screen is really nice. Not OLED, but it's an excellent screen that gets bright enough to see outdoors.
- Great screen to body ratio -i.e. smaller size than Pixel XL yet a bigger screen 5.7 vs. 5.5
- The screen: Yes, it's only a LCD, but it's great with perfect sharpness, great colors and good viewing angles.
- The LCD screen is not as bright as others and you may have trouble viewing outside even with full brightness.
- OLED display looks great! Photos are perfect! Animojis are fun!
- I like the face recognition and the super clear and bright display.
- The display is really amazing going to an OLED display with a higher resolution is really an upgrade compared to my iPhone 7.
- The edge to edge display gives you a much bigger screen than the 7 or 8 (not plus phones)
- Display (not bright enough), harder to hold than a 6/6s/7/8
- The Phone: Its super fast, simple to adapt to. Storage is great. I love the design.
- Very fast and smooth operation. No stuttering or other slowdowns. Runs the fastest Android processor currently available, same as on the S8 and others costing much more.
- There is a powerful Snapdragon 835 processor under the hood and 4GB of memory, which is more than enough for just about anyone.
- There is 128 gig of storage that comes standard...that's right, standard. Given that most phones charge you a lot more for that much storage, it's a great deal--especially at the currently reduced prices.
- No expandable memory - though 128GB helps with that problem.
- The processor is amazing! Best iPhone Apple has ever made!
- Amazing pics and fast processor. Love the animal taking emojis.
- The new processor/CPU is very fast can handle any task or multiple task very well. The Face ID works good so far
- The phones processor is lightening fast with no lag time at all. The facial rec works unbelievably fast and accurately. While riding in the car last night in the dark, it still unlocked my phone.
- For being the new IPhone "generation X", it has a slow processor & the camera has a delayed caption
- Camera: I like it. Nothing wrong with the native camera. I read so much about people complaining about crashes etc, but I had no issues so far. The quality is great although I have not installed the Google Camera APK and hence cannot compare the native camera functionality vs the Google Camera APK.
- Camera launch: Can launch the camera quickly and easily, the same way, regardless of whether it's locked, screen off, or I'm using it.
- The camera is still not the best out there in low light, despite Essential's many updates.
- Camera is good but not great. If you want a great point and shoot, than this phone is not for you. The image quality has vastly improved since release but I found the shutter speed a little slow.
- Bought the phone specifically for camera. Screen is also nice.
- The camera on this phone is AMAZING!! Finally Apple got it right!!!
- This phone is absolutely amazing with an amazing camera. The detail is perfect.
- Photos are good. The portrait option is awesome with natural light.
- Still photos are less impressive than expected. Do not match the photos of the Samsung Note8.
- Fingerprint sensor: this one is very fast and accurate, it's great to have one finally.
- Ambient light sensor: works perfectly, always at a good level for me no matter where I am.
- The Essential team. The constant updates (and Android version upgrades) show that they're really putting their all into making this phone into what the original vision of it was.
- No slot for earphones: I don't get the argument that the industry is heading this way hence we ought to accept it.
- Headphone jack: I'm just gonna have to get used to not having one. Not ideal, but it was getting to be a pain to plug in every time I got in the car.
- Water resistance. I was looking forward to having a phone that I could use without fear in the water, but this phone is not it.
- Speakers at both ends of the phone make noticeably better sound when watching video.
- Operating without a home button does not take long to get used to.
- The face ID is really solid I have only have to not recognize me when I have my aviator sunglasses on.
- Very easy to take accidental screenshots.
- The no home button does take some getting use too but its pretty easy transition.
- Best iphone so far... easy to use and only complaint is no bluetooth headphone included
- Battery: This is definitely a selling point. The battery life is super long. Much much much better than any iPhone I have owned in the past 10 years.
- Amazing battery life, looks like it will allow for 2-3x the screen on time of the moto x which ranged from 2 to 3 hours.
- Decent battery life. Easily lasts the entire day with about 30% left at the end.
- So far, the battery pretty much lasts the day. I usually have to charge when I get home in the evening, which is disappointing but typical of every phone I've used. The phone also comes with a fast charging and a USB-c cable with a high end braided design. It charges up really fast.
- Fantastic battery life. You shouldn't be sweating bullets that your phone will still have juice at the end of a normal day.
- The OLED screen is a game changer and the battery life is heads and shoulders better than an iPhone 7.
- Fast, reliable and the battery lasts me all day.
- The only thing I don’t like is how long it takes to get a full charge.
- Battery is not as long Life as iPhone 6s
