- THe 6500 is the center of my sewing room. I love everything about it. I have not used all the stitches but the one have used are beautiful. It is not loud and runs very smooth.
- The results are precise and rewarding. there are many interesting and creative stitches in the machine and I especially love the automatic thread cutter and foot presser lift and needle threader.
- This sewing machine is fun. I'm a quilter and it's very useful. I've also used the monogram feature to make some name tags. Use it almost every day.
- This is indeed a workhorse of a machine with one big weakness, the bobbin case. It shifts around and then causes timing problems. Now the machine makes a horrible noise, though it sews correctly, because the bobbin case is rubbing the housing area.
- Bought it a year ago Christmas and paid $1300. for it the machine is just awful. I started to sew and the bobbin goes nuts had it repaired when I sat down at the machine to sew a seam the bobbin went nuts again. I've have read reviews and others are complaining of the same thing.
- Janome 6600 is wonderful machine, easy to use and just the best in quality. I do a lot of sewing and I have a 6600 for myself and I bought this one for my daughter.
- My wife loves the machine and I'm ecstatic because she does. I called Bill and Diane about a minor issue and they were both gracious and extremely helpful.
- This is my Dream Machine -- and what I bought when my hubby told me to buy ANY machine I wanted. Compared them all, one at a time, over various fabrics and thicknesses and I loved this one more than some machines that were two and three times the price.
- I works with the greatness Janome does, and it was packaged and sent very well and quickly. The machine was as represented.
- Love the variety of decorative stitches ~ they're easy and fun to use!
- I was looking for a machine with a bigger opening, making it easier to quilt a larger quilt, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. This machine has so many great features like the scissors, lots of feet and the extension table, that I decided to take a chance
- I researched for quite a while before purchasing this. I free-motion quilt and I was tired of dealing with machines where the tension was never consistent. This sewing machine has solved my problem! I LOVE it.
- I love the thread cutter, the speed adjustment and the depth of the throat for quilting work, and have been thoroughly enjoying my machine. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a great machine for quilting.
- Easy to thread, easy to use, the knee lifter for the presser foot and the auto thread cut are great. Very easy to change the feet, even while you are 'mid stitch'. Everything you would ever need is included.
- Only downsides are no sleeve opening and the needle threader is plastic. But other than that it is perfect.
- The only complaint I would have is the absence of a hard carrying case, ()although it does come with a soft cover.
- The stitch selection is very large and u can alter those stitches in length and width. The scissors are also a great plus, once u have a machine with scissors u can’t hardly use one without.
- The accu-feed stitching features insures even (and beautiful) stitching every time. Recommend that you do test swatches when switching from sewing 2 layers of fabric to thicker items such as quilts, to be sure you have the correct tension.
- The large table is a great help. The guides are clearly marked for needle threading and bobbin filling. Bobbin changes are a breeze.
- And the automatic thread cutter cuts the bobbin thread so short I need to re-thread it after using it. I wish I hadn’t purchased it.
- The tension keeps changing; I set it then an hour later I need to adjust it again.
