The size also needs to be considered: the thing is massive. If you don't care about scratching the gloss top you could use it as a coffee table.
This is my first subwoofer and it is perfect. Installation was easy and the size is perfect.
Great build quality and stellar looks in a compact size. Great fan, highly recommended product.
The speaker is well built, and feels very solid. It's not as heavy as you might expect, but it doesn't vibrate or rattle at all.
The size is enormous and the aesthetic is pleasing with the cover on.

Great medium sized sub for a small room
Powerful and smooth. Rather large but I have enjoyed it very much.
Check the specs to make sure its physical size won't dominate your room
Really, its huge. The sound quality is very crisp, but the size really limited the placement options in my room.

Everything works and feels fine. No comment on the amplifier as it is still working hard to keep me happy.
This front firing sub has a 1000 watt peak 250 watt RMS BASH amplifier. This is excellent performance.
This sub will easily be on the same quality level of a sub costing twice what I paid. The amplifier never gets real hot to the touch.
I have very nice deep down bass and low frequency effects without being boomy or muddy.
I immediately noticed port noise on lower frequencies at relatively low volumes.

It delivers as much low frequency punch as I will ever need in my (1,500 cubic-foot) home theater room, and the detail is superb.
Nice detailed sound for a ported woofer and is very powerful. Perfect for a small to mid size theater.
The lower frequencies never sounded more natural in my 25X50 living room, and yes, powerful enough to be felt when called for
The low frequencies from it just did not cut it, I hate to say it but the lowly BIC actually did sound better and fuller.
Not the most powerful sub out there but for the budget it's really impressive.

Nice control to eliminate rumble when needed is very good. Unlike other sub reviews I find the the impact to music is excellent and also can be controlled.
The controls show the PL-200 II flexibility with a variable crossover, phase switching and overall volume knob.
Great speaker, tons of bass. Controls are easy to use to tune in the exact sound you want.
The cabinet as well as the controls were top notch.
The controls are very easy and hidden on the back of the sub. The sub itself is much more attractive than the pictures show.

The finish is beautiful! Well constructed and will look great anywhere.
For $500, I don't think you will find a sub-woofer with all the features this one offers. Take a look and see for yourself. This was more money that I had originally budgeted, but I am sooo happy that I went with SVS!

I quickly powered it up and connected it via LFE.
I like that it sleeps when not in use. I have it connected to Denon receiver and kenwood speakers. And it's just awesome.
Quality construction, beautiful cabinet and easy to connect.
The unit was diagnosed as having a faulty speaker connection.
In my research I heard of some loose connections that require reconnecting wires.
