As the original urban assault tire, we designed the Hookworm to take the abuses of the most aggressive street riders. Bead-to-bead tread provides durability and traction whether you're dropping staircases, grinding rails or riding in your local skate park.

Air suspension built-in. The Big Apple started off the Balloonbike trend more than ten years ago: Comfortable cycling without using complicated technology! Air cushion tires are used as natural suspension. Inflated to around 2 Bar a Balloonbike rolls really easily and with a full suspension effect. A normal tire with a width of 37 mm must be inflated to a rock-hard 4 bar, in order to roll similarly well.

In point of speed and comfort, it is the ideal tire for either of the two categories.
I have roughly 400 miles on these and they are still like new. Awesome tires.
Another advantage is the solid construction of these tires.
Good rolling speed, very comfortable, can be inflated to a wide range of pressure.
The only real downside is limited adherence in wet and / or cold temperatures.

These tires have excellent grip. I ride pretty fast and havent lost traction around turns yet.
For urban and light off road cycling Maxxis Hookworms offer excellent grip in all weathers, low rolling resistance and protection against flats.
This tire is great for the roughest highway riding and all the curb jumping!

Tire was not round rubbed my front derailleur every half rotation, also very large when inflated so make sure there is ample space in your forks.

Cobbles and potholes cease to matter, while the bike isn’t burdened with heavy energy-sapping springs.
Good contact patch for street use. Smooth ride and very predictable in most weather conditions.
For a street tire i think you wont find a much better tire.
I bloody love them, have done about 500 miles on them and only suffered one puncture, and that was on hedge cutting day.
When inflated to minimum pressure (2 BAR) they are comfortable but sooo slooow.
