- Cons, none that I can think of except they were a bit heavy to lift.
- The KEF R700 are large but very handsome floorstanders
- I would recommend these speakers to those who have a decent sized room and want a dynamic and exciting sound.
- Quite tall
- Powerful, rich sound, strong at low volume, great separation of different elements of the music.. Classical, blues, dance, you name it these speakers handle it with ease
- The performance of my R500s at home has been everything that I imagined they could be. They sound every bit as good as they did in the shop. Each time I listen to vinyl, CD or radio, I find myself with this smile on my face.
- The combination of Arcam Amp, Kef speakers and NAIM box have provided the best I have ever heard my CDs.
- I listen to mixed music from a variety of sources including vinyl. I have absolutely no idea why this product from a British company is not on the front cover of every hifi magazine. Outstandingly good Forget the rest, just buy yourself a pair of R500's
- The only annoying thing is the time it is taken to get all my CDs converted into flac files
- Checked the speakers within my system(s). for my taste almost dull, way too soft in all areas. supposed to be combined with very transparent sources and amps (which I have), but the combinations never satisfied, delivering mostly mellow and uninspiring sound
- They have a deep and big soundstage and can be played very loud without duress, or fatigue on the part of the listener.
- They have a deep and commanding bass, which never gets in the way of the music.
- The midrange is very detailed and the treble is sweets. They are well balanced and natural sounding speakers.
- Tremendous sound at any volume
- Even my wife likes the piano black finish. You have no idea how many 'brownie points' that is worth to me.
- I have them mated to the R400b subwoofer (Which is a fantastic sub!)
- Great combination of looks and sounds. These are such an attractive set that produce quality sound
- The rosewood finish is beautiful.
- The overall quality standard of both the manufacturing as well as the audio of the R series is commendable. The KEF engineers really deserve an applaud. I replaced iq 70 and Iq 60c with R700 and R200C and it is connected to my Onkyo TX NR 5008.
- Stunning design, exceptional build quality
- Dust is your new enemy
- Disagrees with some sound calibration software
- Reveals flaws of some lower-quality source material
