- This is one stable boat. Not once did either of us feel at risk of tipping over or being swamped by a wave.
- It is light, at 42 pounds, one person can drag this boat anywhere. Like all kayaks, they are awkward for even two people to portage but I would rather be awkward with 42 pounds than the 70 plus pounds of a hard shell equivalent.
- Carrying capacity is tremendous. We have put our 115-pound dog in it, we have loaded it with crab pots, fishing gear and camping gear and still had room to paddle.
- We love the versatility of this inflatable boat,it is super durable easy to use and easy to paddle.
- Its nice that it will hold two people comfortably too.
- There is plenty of room for two persons or a person and a dog, but with two people there is not much room for overnight gear.
- The boat is slower than a rigid kayak this size, but extremely comfortable and stable. We even were able to stand up and simulate a stand up paddle board.
- We love our 420X Explorer. It's the perfect size for my wife and I plus our two dogs with gear.
- I'm a big guy at 6'00" and 290 LBS and this yak wasn't even near at drawing water...very buoyant!
- Space wise, I am able to fit me, my wife and my daughter (as well as necessary gear AND the dog) I am over 6' and the wife is a couple of inches shy, so the added length of the 420x was essential.
- The drop stitch floor is fantastic. It is so firm you can stand up in the boat without fear of losing your balance. I have actually put in and pulled out Dungee crab pots out of this boat since we purchased it.
- Very durable and stable product. I have taken my sea eagle 380x a few times now, both on flat and moving water.
- I personally have owned this kayak for almost a year now and it is an excellent value in an inflatable kayak. It is tough as nails and extremely well built.
- We love it! Easy to inflate & deflate. Comfortable sitting in it.
- The carbon paddles are well made. The air pump works well. The boat seems very sturdy and stable and I feel safe in it going through the rapids.
- The paddles that come with it are really nice - better than any other kayak I've owned.
- The center of gravity is so low that I never feared being thrown out or flipping the kayak. It also takes a beating like a champ.
- The quality is great and I have no complaints on that front.
- The 2011 model has only 4 self bailing holes and they are poorly positioned too high in the bow and stern.
- Well made, portable. The keeper sling for the skag pin seems like a weak spot (hang ups, getting ripped off, etc...) but I don't know how it could be better without some integrated plastic 'fastex' buckle like ensemble.
- I have one of the high back seats also but prefer the Deluxe for comfort. I was surprised how easy and fast set up and teardown is.
- This is a very stable, comfortable way to enjoy the water.
- Firstly, setup is literally less than 10 minutes. I especially like the adaptor for the valve being a twist in and twist out, pump and done!
- Ordered the 380X pro package and only the hull came, not even the floor. No paddles, seats, pump or storage bags.
- With the pro package you get some extras, including the pump and seats. The pump is quite nice, seems durable, high volume, and takes only a few minutes to pump up the kayak, and is easy to pack away on trips.
- The two stage pump makes Inflating and deflation a breeze. The kayak packs back into the storage bag with no issues very neat and tidy.
- The pro seats I think would be better suited for whitewater excursions as they put you LOW in the boat and it makes it a little more difficult to paddle on open water.
- It's stable & safe and goes along pretty well for an inflatable. It's also light weight and easy to carry and stow.
- If the kayak got turned sideways going around a rock I found it very easy to get the nose turned back down river.
