What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
- Weight was a little heavy but worth it. Case was a little slippery so I custom cut rubber grip tape and now the camera looks even more expensive
- It is compact. I have to do a lot of one handed shooting and the quick to grab and eade of sticking it in a pocket aspect of this camera is super
- A bit heavier than I'd like for backpacking and trough hiking, but it's better than a DSLR. The one star out is for weight, but it's a minor complaint
Olympus TG-4 Waterproof Digital Camera
- The size and weight of the camera are just right.
- Very solid and well built camera. It is not a light weight unit but I like that fact.
- Light weight, easy to carry in your pocket.
- It is light weight, easy to use and took great pictures above and below the water.
- Very light weight and portable!

What customers say about "Imaging"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
- The image sensor and photo quality are darn good. Sunsets turn out vivid and as long as you use a tripod, low light pictures turn out good too.
- Microscope mode is simply amazing. You can focus as close as 1cm and zoom 4X optically.
- The built in focus stacking will process several images to maximize sharpness.
- With the LG-1 light guide you get perfect lighting up close.
- You can choose digital zoom to magnify zoom by factors of 1X, 2X or 4X. (obviously image quality degrades at these high settings)
- If you let the camera select the ISO and it creeps up to take a picture in lower light, the image immediately becomes garbage.
- While in microscope mode, there is no provision for user tweaks to aperture or program shift. Although focus stacking is great to have, you cannot select the size of the stack.
Olympus TG-4 Waterproof Digital Camera
- This camera does a really good job with basic underwater photography, and has some convenient underwater shooting modes that you can adjust to get the best photo.
- The HDR mode takes some really nice shots, but does flatten to JPG and takes a sec to process, which delays the shooting time a bit. Still worth using though.
- Microscope mode is incredible.
- Lots of picture-type options, such as panoramic, pinhole, etc.
- Photo quality is really just average and doesn't match some of the better point and shoot cameras.

What customers say about "Display"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
- Unlike most new cameras, it does not have a touch screen which is the most common criticism I've seen of it, but those critics don't seem to be aware that touch screens don't work very well - if at all - under water. All of the controls on the TG-5 are physical and work above and below the surface
- The screen goes off rather quickly compared with the 4 or 5 other waterproof cameras I've owned. The TG-5 comes to life with a tap on the shutter trigger And your settings are right where you left it. The screen going dark saves the battery so I get 2 to 3 snorkels on a charge
- The rather generously sized three inch monitor screen has a menu with forty-one display items though fortunately not all visible at the same time.
- The camera is robust but the front lens cover and back monitor screen could get scratched, it all depends how careful you are with your expensive equipment.
- Way too much information on the screen resulting in everything being very small.
Olympus TG-4 Waterproof Digital Camera
- The live view screen is sharp and bright.
- The lcd screen is very exposed and easily scratched, I strongly suggest tempered glass protector.
- I really want to love this camera but the biggest problem is the lens fogs up a lot. Also the lcd screen fogs up as well.
- Back screen is not at all scratch resistant. For a tough camera it showed wear and tear from the first moment I took it in the water.
- Not the best screen, I often can hardly tell how a photo really looks until I get it on the laptop,

What customers say about "Protection"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
- It stayed waterproof to a depth of 10'. I did not go any deeper.
- Waterproof, sensible double locks on compartments, reasonable lens, reasonable picture, and RAW format.
- This waterproof camera is absolutely fantastic it takes great photos can shoot at 20 frames per second and shoots 4k video works great.
- Waterproof; shockproof; freezeproof and on and on
- The TG-5 is waterproof to 50 feet - way deeper than I'm likely to go, so that's perfect. It's also shock resistant, and crush resistant - though I'm hoping not to test those out :)
Olympus TG-4 Waterproof Digital Camera
- Doesn't need underwater housing unless you dive below 50 ft
- A few of the pros are its waterproof, takes awesome underwater shots, rugged, small, and easy to use.
- I bought it for my son because it was shockproof and waterproof. It has good features.
- I brought this camera for my Hawaii trip and it was worth every penny of it. Dive down to 25 feet snuba with no problem.
- Just because it's shockproof, crushproof, and rugged doesn't mean that it won't scratch. I was riding on my bike, had my camera sitting in a bike basket and it got scratched up. So be careful and maybe get a pouch for it.

What customers say about "Connectivity"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
- The camera does a very nice WiFi interface with my Samsung tablet which can control the camera as well import photos from it
- Camera makes it's own wifi (can use phone to control shutter, etc)
- The two openings, one for the battery/card and one for the HDMI/USB cables each have two mini slide locks and they are closed when an orange color isn't visible under the four slide bars.
- The biggest disappointment is WiFi. The primitive WiFi only works with cell phones. You cannot use WiFi over a network/PC.
- The only weird thing is that the GPS display data is displaying the barometer in Pascals and the temp in centigrade...can't find the setting to change it. Probably going to hav to wait for software update.
Olympus TG-4 Waterproof Digital Camera
- My cellphone still came into play by using the bluetooth connectivity to turn it into a camera remote. That proved useful for taking some nice selfies with the background landscape fully captured.
- especially love that it has Wifi and will connect to my iPhone so I can deliver photographs directly to my iPhone without having to get out all of the wires and go to my desktop. So handy!
- The wi-fi on the camera sets the camera itself up as a wi-fi connection that you can select in your phone's wi-fi connections. After you have connected to the camera's wi-fi, you can use the Olympus app on your phone to remote control the camera, edit photos and transfer them to your phone.
- The GPS, while a bit laggy in acquiring a signal, is quite handy.
- The connectivity performance via WiFi though is cumbersome. I had hoped moving photos around would be as easy as with my iPhone, but that isn't close to the case. It is always easier to just connect the phone physically to a computer

What customers say about "Power"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
- Love not replacing batteries, just plug in at end of day.
- Battery life very good. I could shoot most of the day and the battery was still half charged.
- Battery life has been quite good.
- The battery life is way to short...buy xtra The camera WILL die on you just when that once in a lifetime shot is desired...just expect it.. it WILL happen.
Olympus TG-4 Waterproof Digital Camera
- Battery life is pretty good. I purchased an extra battery and didn't need it.
- Battery life better than expected. I took several hundred shots and many minutes of video before the indicator dropped off "full".
- Battery life is short. You need to completely recharge the battery after just a few hours of usage, even when it's not shooting all the time.
- The camera does not come with a separate battery charger (battery must be charged while in the camera by default), which isn't a big deal if you only have a single battery.
