Hamilton Beach 63221 All-Metal Stand Mixer
- It is quieter than any mixer I've owned and it hasn't rocked on the counter on high speeds like some of the other reviews have stated.
- Some reviewers complain about the mixer moving on the countertop when mixing something heavy, like bread dough in it at a higher speed. I make lots of dough at a time and this mixer is really sturdy and the rubber feet at the bottom prevent it from moving.
- Handles cookie dough, bread dough, minced meat - we used it extensively to do our christmas baking and it worked superbly with any dough; we only use the first two speed settings, that is completely sufficient for our needs (the thing has 12 speed settings ...)
- When mixing on speeds higher than level 6, there is noticeable vibration from the machine.
- Head wobbles a bit with dough on speeds 2 and 4, the only speeds I really needed.
KitchenAid KP26M1XER Professional 600 Series Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer
- This mixer utilizes a new style of dough hook and the power of the mixer do a great job on the number 2 speed setting. And (2) do not knead the dough longer than 2 or 3 minutes.
- The motor on the newer 6500 is much more quiet yet substantial feeling. The 6500 is almost more quiet on speed 10 than the 600 is on setting 1. I did at least get the feeling the 6500 was either more powerful in general or better at delivering torque.
- The motor is definitely more powerful than the regular kitchen aid (great for large batches of dough), and it holds more volume, so it's great for larger batches.
- I also needed something that can mix slow or fast. The speeds seem appropriate for the mixer. I'm never wishing I had one speed slower or one speed higher than the mixing speeds.
- It's LOUD. Very, very loud.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Hamilton Beach 63221 All-Metal Stand Mixer
- Fits under cabinet. I put it on a cutting board to easily pull it out (not enough rooom for the head to tilt back under the cabinet).
- Powder Coating finish. Attractive, easy to clean, and durable. I cannot imagine what one would have to do to chip the lacquer, but it would certainly take effort.
- Durable all-metal casing that will continue to look good while likely outlasting the motor. I suspect that this type of powder coating won't yellow with age (for the white versions). It has a high gloss finish that isn't likely to chip off and must be quite difficult to scratch.
- Top-heavy design: I suppose all stand mixers are made with the bulk of the weight in the motor, but when moving this machine, it toppled over on the counter — still works though!
- I think the only downfall is the weight of this machine.
KitchenAid KP26M1XER Professional 600 Series Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer
- The mixer now has all metal gears and metal gear box. This unit has not had plastic gears for 5 years.
- Hard metal tools that are sure to last
- Materials wise the KitchenAid is all-metal and is put together very well. The mixer is heavy, and sturdy, and with its robust rubber feet, stays planted in one place.
- Knob in the back gets pushed into a screwed in piece of metal instead of being properly milled into the base.
- Terrible product. In less than a month the motor started making loud whizzing noises. The stainless steel container is flimsy and made with cheap material.

What customers say about "Control"
Hamilton Beach 63221 All-Metal Stand Mixer
- The control buttons are in a location that he can "feel" and knows exactly what speed he is using.
- Kinda lets you know it is a powerful electronic speed controlled mixer. I can easily steady the base for the few seconds to finish mixing.
- A very nice addition to any kitchen, and very versatile tool that has all the standard controls.
- Just don't flip the control straight to a higher speed when you're mixing raw ingredients - high speed really means high, and if there are a lot of liquid or dry ingredients in the bowl they will fly all over.
- Speed control can be better .....reason for 4 stars.
KitchenAid KP26M1XER Professional 600 Series Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer
- This mixer uses the lift mechanism rather than the "tilt head" to remove the beaters from the bowl. I do find this to be less convenient than the Artisan and I wondered what the advantage could possibly be.
- Someone complained that the beater leaves unmixed residue in the bottom of the bowl. Again, read the manual. There is an adjustment point where you can raise or lower the bowl slightly when it is in the "up" position.
- This mixer uses the lift mechanism rather than the "tilt head" to remove the beaters from the bowl. I do find this to be less convenient than the Artisan and I wondered what the advantage could possibly be.
- It looks similar to the 600 control, but has the hall speed sensor soldered on. It also misses the IC from early 600 models.
- The locking mechanism on the bowl is hard fasten without a good grip

What customers say about "Details"
Hamilton Beach 63221 All-Metal Stand Mixer
- Ergonomic and easy to clean stainless steel bowl. If it were easily dentable, I'd have done it by now, and I haven't.
- I like having pouring shield for adding flour. Flat beater mixes as well as Kitchen Aid mixer. I also like having handle on bowl. I look forward to using this mixer for many years.
- The 4.5 quart bowl is solid and great. I've used this mixture fifty times and its so easy to clean up and set back up.
- Poor selection of bizarre and costly attachments compared to the competition.
- The spatter/pour shield: gets in the way when I need to lift/lower the motor head; not to mention, it gets quite messy with batter, if I need to scrape down the side of the mixing bowl. And batter gets caught underneath the spatter shield lip.
KitchenAid KP26M1XER Professional 600 Series Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer
- There is a beater that KitchenAid sells separately that I feel should be standard on all their mixers. It includes a silicone "scrapper" attached to one side of the beater blade. It scrapes the bowl as it mixes.
- The 6 quart bowl is great. Compared with the other versians, one extra quart does make a difference.
- I love the pouring shield. It does minimize splatter effectively. It isn't completely enclosed in the back, so my mixer tends to get a little splatter underneath. At least it isn't all over my counters. The three beaters that come with the mixer are very lightweight, but seem sturdy.
- None of the attachments actually reach close enough to the bottom/sides of the bowl.
- The paddle is 1/4 inch from the bottom and sides of the bowl which leaves ingredients unmixed
