Beat up and knead your dough with the Ankarsrum Original stand mixer. This motorized dough kneader features a stainless steel bowl and a black chrome plastic base. This machine includes a dough roller, dough knife, dough scraper, dough hook, yeast lid, a double beater with a 3.5 liter plastic bowl, balloon and cookie whisks, and a seven liter mixing bowl. It mixes and kneads smooth, silky, elastic dough quickly and easily with its unique roller and scraper design. As the bowl revolves, the deeply fluted roller acts as your fingers, with the scraper mimicking the palm of your hand. The scraper folds the dough with a rhythmic motion while the roller provides a powerful massaging action. Any speed from 45 to 130 RPM can be selected, and an electronic speed sensor automatically adjusts motor torque to the load. A timer is standard equipment, so it will do its work while you do other tasks, stopping when you want it to. The control panel is angled for comfortable use, and the large timer and speed controls are attractive and easy to read. Best of all, it is backed with a five year manufacturer's warranty and overload protection.
While the Bosch Compact whip drive spins it simultaneously rotates within the bowl in a unique planetary motion. This combination action provides fantastically thorough mixing and whipping.   • I found that this mixer extremely powerful. If you follow the directions on the package that say to beat your batter on medium speed for 4 minutes, your cake will come out way too fluffy.
  • The mixer has variable speed for the bowl, but so far I've barely turned it up past the lowest setting.

  • Really handles bread dough well. I have made as small a two loaves and up to 6 so far. the small bowl and beater are great for cake batter and Taiyaki batter
  • Strictly speaking this appliance is for bread dough (hence the 800 watt motor). You will not be happy mixing anything in the cheap plastic bowl with the dinky metal beater attachments. Power and speed are irrelevant when the bowl and attachments are so inferior.

  • Love this machine! Decided to buy this after comparing the power rating (400 watt) with other brands. Very strong machine for its size, quality attachments, small enough footprint I can leave it on the counter.
  • The name 'Compact', is a misnomer and in my opinion only applies to the stature of the machine not on performance or volume. It's 400 watts of power and if the included French Bread recipe is any indication, 10-12 cups of flour.
  • Powerful, efficient, gets the job done. Handled cookie dough with ease (used the dough hook to mix in the flour), kneaded dough for two loaves, and beat cake batter to a fluffy light consistency
  • It can handle kneading whole wheat dough for 10minutes on speed 2 which makes a lovely dough.
  • Does not mix well, not enough power and to scrap the sides down is a royal pain.

  • First of all, this thing is built like a tank, extremely heavy duty in the right places. the bowl is very heavy, all the implements (with the exception of the plastic whisk bowl) are extremely robust.

  • This machine is super quiet. Two dials on the front; one for infinitely variable speed, one for timing.
  • It also has a timer on the switch that I really appreciate.
  • There are simple separate controls for speed and time.
  • The timer is great too because you can set the timer to the amount of time it would take to mix it, then come back, check and see that it's ready to knead and then if so, set it for 5 minutes or 10 minutes or however long you think you want it to knead and then you can walk away and multi-task

  • The lid is easy to put on and remove. It is designed to fit a little loosely, but it stays on. The machine works with or without the lid on.

  • The mixing bowl is heavy stainless steel and will hold roughly a gallon in it.
  • The bowl itself turns! Rather than having a beating paddle, there is a roller with spiral grooves that attaches to the arm and this roller is what mixes.
  • The advantages of this machine are numerous. It has an enormous capacity for home use; my 8-10 cups of flour bread does not stress it at all.
  • The bowl spins not the arm holding the beater. The beater does spin with the bowl. It also has an arm that scraps the sides at all times.
  • Don't expect the egg beaters to handle several lbs of dough- they are meant for eggs and liquids, not dough.
  • The odd dough hook does a poor job with yeasted bread dough.mjust doesn't seem to turn it well.

  • I am very pleased by the park position that locates the mixing attachments to facilitate tilting the mix head up so that the coated attachments will drip into the mix bowl.
  • The mix bowl has a pour spout that reduces the potential for mess.
  • Love that i don't have to scrape down the sides of the bowl while mixing - the beaters get everything, and it comes with a splash guard!
  • The mixing pattern of the beaters eliminates the need to scrape dough down the sides of the mixing bowl. It's something you have to experience to appreciate. No scraping, no stopping the action to unclog your beaters.
  • The bowl isn't big, great for making small batches. And yes, it's PLASTIC
  • It doesn't handle normal bread dough. This is a gear design inadequacy - not a power shortage.
  • The mix head does not stay firmly down when mixing bread - it raises up and lowers down as the mixing hook works around the circuit.
