About the Product
The 1250DEVS features two distinct sanding modes, an extremely aggressive turbo driven, eccentric orbit sanding mode for very aggressive sanding, as well as a conventional random orbit sanding mode for normal stock removal and fine finishing. With the flip of a lever, the sanding mode can be easily changed.
The unrivalled original for more than 30 years: The ROTEX RO 150 with 3-in-1 – for coarse sanding, fine sanding and polishing. Lighten the load of your tool kit while increasing the range of applications. With just one tool for an extremely high material removal rate during coarse sanding. A super-fine result when fine sanding. And a perfect finish when polishing. When combined with the GRANAT abrasive, the ROTEX saves money not only thanks to the low purchase price, but also thanks to the minimal use of abrasives. And with the appropriate mobile dust extractor, it even saves you the effort of brushing the work surface.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Bosch 1250DEVS Random Orbital Sander/Polisher
- The ergonomics are great; I've never had a hard time finding a grip on it, even when working overhead.
- It has enough weight for difficult work.
- It's heavy. Any kind of work where you have to support the weight of the sander will leave you exhausted.
- Heavy tool, not small, can be a handful on wide orbit setting.
Festool RO 150 FEQ Rotex Dual-Mode Sander
- The rotating pad with the right angle handle is easy to handle and places less stress on the user than a belt sander.
- This sander is even a little better than the beloved Bosch RO sander I have, and THAT is saying something. In fact the only other sanders I have experience with that feel as comfortable to use are the Mafell sanders which cost a good bit more.
- The RO 150 is heavier than my other palm sanders and harder to control while it is in rotary mode but it is lighter and easier to control than my belt sander while being nearly as aggressive and delivering better results.
- The ergonomics are good (I used it for 6 hrs straight and nothing hurt), there was less hand tingle than with my other palm sanders and the weight was not so much that I couldn't use it one handed for short periods.
- Easy to hold and weighted enough it doesn't fly around.

What customers say about "Features"
Bosch 1250DEVS Random Orbital Sander/Polisher
- In normal mode, it worked great to sand a 120 square foot cedar deck to prepare for finish; entire deck sanded in under 30 minutes.
- The vac port being at the rear of the sander is nice for hose/cord management.
- Very powerful, smooth, well constructed, excellent dust collection, Made in Germany, cheaper than the Festools.
- Extra pads are dirt cheap compared to those from Makita and other German brands.
- Love the variable speed and sanding options. This thing rocks! It can chew through anything. I have no issues so far.
- I would have easily given this a 5 star rating, but the heavy removal mode quit on me.
- In the slower mode, it is no better than my (albeit smaller) Milwakee ROS. However, in the faster "stock removal" mode, it gets the job done even if it is a bit unwieldy.
Festool RO 150 FEQ Rotex Dual-Mode Sander
- Normally, I'd use a belt sander for this amount of fast paint & stock removal, yet the RO 150 in rotating mode works just as fast and leaves a smoother finish due to its rotating motion.
- The RO150 produces a finer finish at 180 than some other (cheap) random-orbit sanders do at higher grits. I assume that is due to the precision of the gear-driven mechanism. For this old barn door, 180 was plenty fine enough.
- In the case of this particular tool though, it IS unique. It DOES perform several jobs superbly. That definitely WILL provide advantages of convenience, safety, portability and save money over the long haul.
- The dust collection is a real boon for primary stock removal, paint removal and rough surface prep.
- It is also FAR less noisy than any belt sander I've used, including my beloved Bosch belt sander.
