The DWE6423 5" Variable Speed Random Orbit Sander Kit with hook & loop pad has a 3 amp motor that delivers between 8,000 to 12,000 OPM. The separate counterweight reduces vibration and along with the rubber overmold grip provides comfortable sanding. A shorter design allows users to get closer to the work surface and the one-handed locking dust bag attaches securely to the sander to aid in dust collection or the user can attach the sander directly to the DWV010 or DWV012 dust collectors.

Built to deliver smooth, clean finishes, the DEWALT 5-Inch Variable-Speed Random-Orbit Sander features DEWALT's trademarked Controlled Finishing System along with a 3.0 amp motor and an easy-to-control body with textured grips. A dust bag that helps keep your work space clean and safe, a sealed-switch, and sealed ball bearings round out the sander's durable design.

Yes, it has some weight to it, but not too much....if you let the unit do the work, the weight is an advantage.
A good tool but doesn't catch a much dust as I would like. Light weight and easy to use. I prefer hooking up the vacuum instead of using the bag.
Works - light weight and decent feel. Bag is a nice touch.
I like the weight of this sander though as well.
Easy on/off and comfortable to use for those big sanding projects

It is comfortable in the hand(s) and its weight is not fatiguing.
It's light weight and has an adjustment knob for varying the speeds.
We've always had good luck with Dewalt products. Very light weight & quiet to use.
Nice weight and plenty of variable power for my uses.
In addition, it is light-weight and you don't have to "fight" it to keep control on your work.

Variable speed - from very powerful to very gentle
What can you say about an orbital sander that hasn't already been said? Not much, if they work as well as this little champ.
The tool is pretty good now that I have figured out a solution to my problem, but my experience with Dewalt is less than stellar. I really wish Dewalt would have made a half-hearted attempt and at least pretended to address my issue.
This is sooooo much better than my old Ryobi square sander. I don't know how I lived without it all this time. Love the size, power and speed adjustments.
The poorly located power switch on my old Ridgid could occasionally be hit and switch to off when using the sander two-handed.

DEWALT D26453K Random Orbit Sander Kit with Cloth Dust Bag

It is amazingly powerful, never bogged down but did work best for me with a light touch.
The pad has good grip on the sandpaper (bought Kirka pads at the same time), the weight is manageable (side ways and upside down), decent cord length and it was powerful enough for my purposes.
Best sander I have owned. Powerful, fits comfortable in the hand. Easy to change the sand paper, on/off. A good addition to a DIY’er .
The dust collection bag fills up quickly causing frequent emptying
t's not as powerful as the 2.7amp ryobi orbital sander which i also have. I thought this one would be heavier duty and more impressive.
