DEWALT DWP849 Variable Speed Polisher
- I love this thing, just wish it came with a case. I was worried about burning paint but this has adjustable speeds and can pretty much use any head. I had a flawless detailing experience.
- This tool has good and bad features. First the good. I like the variable speed dial. It maintains the set speed even under load. It is a very powerful polisher/grinder.
- Great machine! It has a high RPM surge on low speed settings but still great machine.
- It maintains the set speed even under load. It is a very powerful polisher/grinder.
- A very powerful little on the heavy side Polisher, I purchased it because of the people on YouTube who makes her living Polish aluminum all day long on trucks & trailers swear Dewalt last the longest for its price
DEWALT (DWP849X) Variable Speed Polisher with Soft Start
- Typical Dewalt extreme high quality power tool. Feels solid and sturdy.
- Dewalt has always been my weapon of choice while getting into some serious compounding on heaviy oxidized sportfishers and center consoles. the size, weight and power of this polisher is perfect.
- It has plenty of power even when I use a grabby wool bonnet and thick cutting compound on highly oxidized paint surfaces. Yet itis also very forgiving and controllable on jobs requiring some finesse.
- Used this polisher to buff out a freshly painted car. The variable speed start up is a real help. Smooth running and quality built, as one would expect from a Dewalt product.
- Only annoyance is the speed initially goes higher, then comes back to the desired setting. Gets hot during use but operates without a hiccup.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
DEWALT DWP849 Variable Speed Polisher
- Only thing is the makita wheel is slightly lighter than this one but this is balanced with the weight really well. i got my boats shiny and looking new
- This buffer is so comfortable and easy to use. Nice and light, and extremely variable.
- Very pleased with the variable speed and weight of this polisher.
- The tool is a little heavy. Polishing above your head is a workout.
DEWALT (DWP849X) Variable Speed Polisher with Soft Start
- When the buffer first arrived, it had some weight to it. When I used the buffer, I came to the realization that the weight allows the buffer to do all the work.
- This buffer works flawlessly. Love the speed control and weight of buffer!!
- Pro's, Light weight, comfortable to hold, great trigger, speed control dial location and function it clicks into its setting gives you a sense of certainty, rubber grip doesnt slip in your hand when you sweat or get compound on them, easy to work with all day.
- Two minor issues are the weight and the detailed description indicates a case was included.
- Weight it a tad heavy - if you use it all day long there is a trade-off between weight and the durability of the tool.

What customers say about "Features"
DEWALT DWP849 Variable Speed Polisher
- This is a great product so far. We'll see how it holds up but out of the box the variable speed is a great feature. I
- The speed control however is not as smooth as on other variable speed tools that I have. No matter how slowly and evenly I press the trigger, the tool still jerks when starting. Once started, it works fine.
- Works as advertised. Feels solid. Good torque. Convenient speed control. Quieter than some cheaper polishers. Should out last me.
- Dewalt lives up to its reputation a very high quality product. I love fact I could change the RPM's. Very easy to use.
- Some issue with dust entering the body breaking electrical connections.

- Very well built and the soft start feature is great! The only drawback is that the cord could be a bit longer, but it's nothing an extension cord can't fix. Great product.
