About the Product
Castrol EDGE is three times stronger against viscosity breakdown than the leading synthetic and leading conventional oils.** The unique titanium technology physically changes the way oil behaves under extreme pressures doubling its film strength*, preventing oil from breaking down and reducing friction to maximize engine performance.
Is a full synthetic engine oil formulated with TITANIUM FST™, for prestige and high performance engines in both petrol and diesel passenger and light commercial vehicles, naturally aspirated or turbocharged.

What customers say about "Key Specs"
Castrol EDGE 0W-30 (06244) Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil
- Great oil, actual class IV synthetic.
- It can be frustrating to find a readily-available motor oil in the United States which meets all factory warranty requirements such as BMW-LL01 and that Europeans, professional race teams, and oil experts would consider a "real synthetic".
- I like Castrol products and have used them happily for over thirty years. There's no beating these new synthetics for longevity and performance.
- Great product. Way better than mobil 1 synthetic oil. I have a K20 engine that burns engine oil; with GC, it still burns but much slower than mobil 1 does.
- I buy this every year for my 01' trans Am WS6. Real Synthetic.
Castrol EDGE 0W-40 (03101) Synthetic
- Im already on my second one with this oil. I don't feel a difference compared to the mobil1 but it seems to still run just as good.
- Quality synthetic oil for my 2003 VW Passat with turbocharged engine. This engine requires a 5W40 or 0W40 synthetic oil due to the demands of the turbo.
- Great product. Just what the doctor ordered for my Mercedes Benz 280.
- Much less than original BMW OEM oil due to 5 quart bottle. This one is made in Belgium.
- Cheap, high quality synthetic bmw approved oil, what is there not to like.

What customers say about "Features"
Castrol EDGE 0W-30 (06244) Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil
- I use this oil in a turbo BMW. Mobil 0w-40 is no longer BMW LL-01 approved and BMW recommends Castrol.
- Excellent price for this superior oil, which is one of the very few that appears on BMW's "approved" oils, meeting their performance standards.
- It's not officially approved by BMW, but my BMW dealership said it's fine. Might be better used in cooler months since it's 0W-30 versus 5W-30, but not likely an issue.
- If I’m not mistaken, it is the 0w-40 that is listed in the manual as an acceptable replacement and not the 0w-30.
- Oil temps are about 5-10 deg cooler when running this oil vs the BMW oil from the dealer. I believe it runs a bit thicker than most 30 weight oils.
Castrol EDGE 0W-40 (03101) Synthetic
- BMW approved LL-01 oil. You don't have to pay a fortune to get a good synthetic motor oil.
- Nevertheless, this is a fantastic oil with many approvals, including BMW LL-01 which the new Mobil 1 0W-40 appears that have dropped. PAO base oil at a great price.
- Fresh oil change tends to quiet my ticking valves as well, although it could be temperature related. 160k on the clock and still running like a champ. Also, I feel better knowing that it's BMW approved (Longlife-01).
- Perfect for my e90. Mobile1 is no longer LL01 approved, and this is what out cars ask for.
- The OIL put into your German engines .. only European formula approved you will notice the difference right a way
