- Swapped to shell helix around a year ago and found immediately that the car ran smoother and was a heap quieter on startup. Shell reckon that there is around a 3% fuel economy gain so that offsets the small extra you pay.
- After reading about sludge issues in the new (second hand) car I purchased (2002 Saab 9-5 turbo) I decided to drop the sump and see if sludge was present. In short it was and I'm lucky to have not starved the engine, as the oil pickup was so clogged with carbon and other deposits.
- The motor was still running perfectly, and using about 0.5L every 5,000K, as it had since almost new. In fact it ran so well, my friends reckoned I had done a mild hot-up on the motor.
- Extremely satisfied with this oil. I have run my swift dhire zdi for 3.2 lac kms and still giving fuel mileage above 22 kms/ltr. I recommend every one to use this oil.
- Be aware of recycled engine oil. Replace it with full synthetic oil. Get at least 20% better average. It last for more than 20000km and keeps the engine noise less . Increases pick up.
- Engine noise is low. Compared it with 300v. Fuel efficiency is almost the same. Till now about 9000k, engine maintains at low noise. During cold start, can feel sign of sluggishness when moving off. Also, experienced slight vibration during start up.
- I tried it before and I may go back to it again. My engine just runs very well with this oil. Quiet, smooth and never had any problems with the engine oil drying up/evaporating.
- Starts to turn brown after 5-6k km, but overall still fairly lasting compared to other brands
- Great oil ill be sticking with it. Engine runs really smooth these people put comments on these sites i think they just want to mouth off. Castrol as good as any oil ive tryed 5 stars from me
- After a recommendation to try Castrol Edge in my VS SS commodore I was extremely impressed with it's performance. I change every 10,000km and it is clean. I believe it could easily do 15,000km.
- The oil was given to me by the Castrol rep and he promised me it was the best. As soon as I started using it in the engine i would get valve train noise on start up every time.
- Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 (Europe) or Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40 (same oil in North America) is the best oil you can get. The oil is so good BMW dropped castrol and now only uses SHELL/PENNZOIL for all its cars world wide including racing.
- Good fuel economy also. I use it in all my vehicles being a 2007 Falcon, 2015 Elantra and a 2012 lancer. Trusted brand that i have used for decades.
- I have used it in a few different vehicles and I haven't had any issues.
- The oil has the SAE specifications of sn/cf which is good as it meets the current requirements. It is one of the three brands I trust. I only use Shell, Castrol or Valvoline nothing else.
- Started using this engine oil at my last service and the engine feels much smoother. It has a cleansing technology , or at least that's what it says on the box!
- Did 10K km service intervals no problem. Wasn't great on cold morning starts but I guess it's not a proper synthetic it's only highly refined mineral oil/hydrocracked so you can't expect too much.
- This time, I really felt the difference in smoothness. I was surprised to really experience this I wasn't even expecting any better than Motul or Mobil 1. I personally like this Castrol Edge and will be using it for my Audi S4 on my next oil change.
- It has lasted longer than the 6000km service interval and will run all the way to 10,000kms without any issue of wear or breakdown.
- Back when i had my Audi, i called up a dealer and asked what kind of oil they recommend for my 2002 A4. They said to only use 5w-40. Plus the oil itslef says its for german vehicles. My car always ran smooth.
- This oil was perfect for my 2010 Audi 2.0 T. Works great, my car likes it!
