In March 2012, the old friends Ken Henderson and Ed Coen were fishing in the Gulf of Mexico when their 9-meter long boat started leaking. They took some provisions and life vests, and right after that their boat disappeared in the deep water below them. They stayed there for 30 hours. When it was obvious that Coen was really bad, Henderson decided to make a desperate attempt and to swim in the direction of a far located oil-derrick. He lost bearing, wandered from a course and saw hallucinations while swimming. When he hardly reached there it was 2 o’clock in the morning. He was 50 miles away from the place where their boat sank. After he had found a galley, he called his wife who informed coastal guards about what happened. If Henderson hadn’t done his valiant snatch, the coastal guard would have found two dead bodies instead of one.

They were found 200 miles off the northern coast of Australia. Thus, they had crossed the Pacific Ocean.
