- Bottom line is the resolution is fantastic, better than the grain of the Kodachrome 64 of the slides in many cases. The hardware is robust and trouble-free.
- The resolution is more then enough for any need and the unit installed and worked perfectly right out of the box.
- Quality of scans was excellent! - Great resolution.
- Way too cumbersome to use. Installation isn't straight forward. Quality of scans were not that good. Returned it the same day it arrived!
- Slide scanning work very well, sharp and clear. Negatives, however were notquite as clear and clean when scanned, even at higher resolutions.
- This scanner has the ability to produce extremely high resolution scans, up to 7200dpi.
- I'm really pleased with the quality of the scans - 3600dpi seems fine for most and saves time over the highest resolution (7200dpi) and automatic colour correction dust removal etc give great results from old slides.
- Better than I expected, even the 7200 resolution is better than the 3600, usually not the case for devices. Slow but worth it, quality always takes time. Take the time to dust the negs and slides.
- The results so far are reasonably good but not as good as I had hoped. I hope that I will get better results with more experience.
- Slow to scan, not so versatile on a mac.
- This scanner for slides and negatives was not only easy to use but was compact in size.
- This small machine provides great reproduction from slides.
- This is a small sturdy machine. I'm sure it'll scan thousands more slides.
- For home use and to bring back memories with out taking up counter space (small foot print) this unit is just great!
- Scanner is small compact sturdy with 2 mounts - for slides and strips of film.
- The unit itself is quite compact and good built quality.
- Neat Compact. So easy to use.
- This scanner has a nice compact design and is capable of some incredible results with the Silverfast software.
- It comes with two slide trays that hold 4 slides per tray. So while I am scanning one I am loading the other. Scanning times are longer for higher resolutions.
- Scratch Removal & Dust Removal App - when it did the job (80% of the time) - it was AWESOME!!
- Allows a fair bit of color/brightness/tone/contrast corrections - very handy.
- Has a handy preview light-Box window on the top - nice!
- The scanner arrived with a software CD that couldn't be read.
- I find the instructions on how to set up the machine and how to make it work totally inadequate. It looks like it will do the job I want done but am having real trouble making it work.
- The quick scan takes about 30 seconds , scanning a neg at 2400dpi (my default setting as a balance between quality and scan time) takes about a minute.
- Scanning at lower res will take much shorter time if you just want "contact sheet" style scans and then you could just pick a select few as favourites to scan at higher res.
- The Silverfast software works just fine for me ; one thing I would say is I prefer to scan using as few filters and adjustments as possible from the Silverfast software and just use Photoshop to adjust my scans afterwards.
- Brilliant if you have old slides that you don't mind spending a little time on when converting to digital. Resolution possibilities can be tailored to your own needs with the software.
- The first criticism is the documentation. Translated directly from the German, with no attempt to get it proof-read by a native English speaker, it's badly written, frequently misleading and woefully inadequate.
- Lots of problems getting it working. hardware is fine . software is very confusing
