I switched from an AMD FX-4300 to this. Less core speed but twice the cores. Performance change is about what you would expect.
This processor will run most new games without a problem.
Overclocking up to 4.0 Ghz does not cause the heat in the processor to rise dramatically, and will run at 4.0 without any issues.
Freaking fast, stable, and room to grow.
Very impressed with the speed and performance of this processor.
