Toro's highest performing blower vac. Everything the ultra has, plus added time-saving and leaf shredding performance. Includes the patented shreds-all shred ring that works with the metal impeller to reduce up to 97% of mulched debris to less than 1/2 inch. An oscillating nozzle kit is also included. This kit automatically sweeps the air back and forth making a wider blowing path on hardscapes without moving the wrist. Includes: main blower tube - for dry leaves; power insert - for wet, heavy leaves; concentrator - use in corners and crevices; cord storage hook - store the cord by wrapping it around storage hook; bottom-zip vacuum bag (may be used for easy storage of all blower/vac components). Debris reduction varies with material type and its condition.

Good blower with variable speed. I was skeptical of the variable speed from a reliability standpoint and I think it may have been it's downfall.
The variable speed means anyone can use this with no problems.
As a leaf vacuum, it picks up just about everything (except oak acorns) and very seldom clogs
The machine vacuums up leaves perfectly. Everyone should have one, I even have had friends order the same product....but now a replacement bag costs half as much as the $60 I paid for the whole thing.
Although I primarily use this as a blower, this also has the ability to convert to a vacuum which works ok but does have the tendency to get clogged a bit too easily.

The best feature of this blower is its power. On higher speeds it easily moves large piles of pine needles or leaves.
My wife was extremely impressed also at the speed I could knock her pictures off of the wall. She was so impressed that all she could say was, "take that outside!".
The high speed air gets into places you could not shovel.
At highest speed, it won't break up a deep pile of dry leaves.
The variable speed is incredible so I can adjust the level suction to avoid vacuuming up all my decomposed granite, while still clearing the dead vegetation. At full power I could probably clear my yard of all the rocks!

Is high powered, light weight confirming my research handier than gas and more powerful than cordless.
I love the variable speed but am not loving the weight of the unit. It says it weights almost 9 lbs, and for me that's really heavy on the arms using this as a blower.
I think the weight is just fine. I'm an older guy and not in great shape; but I can use the blower for quite a while without having to rest. I think in part because the blower is balanced well.
It's reasonably lightweight and reasonably well-balanced with the blower nozzle. I believe the mulching unit adds more weight than necessary, especially when I'll never use it, but it's still not bad.
I like it's light weight and seems powerful.

It's quiet, light weight, easy to carry, and does a nice job.
The one note of caution is the weight when collecting leaves. The unit itself is moderately heavy and gets more so as the collection bag fills.
My property is huge, but I can't find a lighter weight unit that shreds as efficiently. I
It is relatively light weight when using the blower portion and the narrow wand allows you to get into tight places.
The Toro 51621 is easy to handle, light in weight but powerful.

The variable speed feature is nice, it's easy to change from vac to blow, the metal impeller is bulletproof, the plastics hold up, and it's reasonably quiet.
This model is more powerful than the older Toro I had previously and whereas my old model basically had one speed this one has a variable speed control making it more flexible to use.
The mulching feature is so strong it only takes one bag to clear our entire backyard. A 3 foot high and 3-4 foot around pile can be mulched into a single bag.
It is much much quieter than a gas blower, it is so quite you dont really need earmuffs.
The dialed speed adjustment is a welcomed design, and could be run at less than top speed for most any type of leaf.

The handle is very comfortable for the blower use, making it seem light and allowing a variety of grips.
The selector switch is also very sensitive and you can very easily switch between low and high without trying to.
The mulching feature is awesome, I compressed alot of leaves and dog hair into just a few loads. The bag is easy to put on and take off.
The volume control was easy to use and I think when using it to blow stuff from a variety of surfaces the easy of changing it will be a big plus.
One really poor design feature is that it is very hard to push a button used to release the attachments (see my photo with arrow pointing to the button).

This model is more powerful than the older Toro I had previously and whereas my old model basically had one speed this one has a variable speed control making it more flexible to use.
he cord holder still isn’t great and still doesn’t hold the cord as well as I think it should. Just like the old model, I find it much too easy to accidently unplug the power cord.
This thing is very light and but extremely powerful.
The balance is good, though vibration at full power seems to be much higher than previous version. Hope this one lasts.
He's not too crazy about dragging a cord around, but is actually more powerful and easier for him to handle due to his arthritis.

Absolute power house! This is about the 51621 model. My gas powered leaf blower/vacuum broke so I thought I would try an electric one.
One positive about the vacuum: it is powerful enough to suck up leaves but not powerful enough to suck up dog poop, very convenient.
It is very powerful in both the blow and suction modes. I have been testing it on leaves and pine needles that are dry, and it performs very well.
This thing is crazy powerful as a blower. I used it in corners and even eaves to get hair, webs and dust. I showered before I set out to clean the back yard which was a mistake as I was covered with dirt and dust when I was done.
It has lots of blowing power and three different nozzle attachments for customizing air flow.
