- Haven't had a problem with normal BTC transactions
- This Bitcoin hardware wallet is well built and fairly intuitive. I feel safe storing my BItcoin on this wallet. The Chrome integration is really cool as well.
- The interface is extremely easy to use. I like that it integrates with Mycelium on my phone so that I can use it while on the road.
- I now use it to store my Bitcoin and Ethereum. ShapeShift is integrated into this device thus making converting cryptocurrencies effortless. Very cool!
- The only thing that I don't like about it is that it doesn't have wide integration with a lot of wallets.
- Lack of segwit integration. Not keeping up with competitors on the software side.
- Support for multiple alt-coins (including XMR, XLM and tokens like OMG etc)
- The Nano S is (in my opinion) the best hardware wallet on the market today. If you are familiar with security technology, this is very similar to having an HSM in your pocket.
- The latest firmware as of today allows usage of Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum (including tokens).
- It also integrates with the Mycelium wallet for Bitcoin which eliminates the need to carry bitcoin keys on your phone when you want to buy items or trade bitcoin in person.
- There is a limit to the variety of currencies you can have on the wallet though. I believe it’s 3. So this may not be for you if you are planning on storing a wide variety of coins/tokens.
- Surprising this expensive device does not allow you to store more than 5 of it's supported crypto currencies. If you want to use fido u2f then you can only use it with 4 currencies.
- KeepKey has a larger display screen with a more readable font (as compared to trezor's smaller screen and little font that can be difficult to read).
- Simplicity of navigating the user interface makes it a great device for beginners; the multitude of features available makes it a great device for advanced users.
- Powered by a micro USB adapter; I like that fact that it's not "flash drive style" (e.g. it's not USB male plugged directly into the PC). I'd be afraid of easily breaking something like that.
- Ability to recover your funds so long as you write down your recovery phrases.
- The KeepKey launcher extension should be included with KeepKey client app, so users only have one item to download.
- Cannot remove old accounts from view.
- Chrome extension is not as convenient as Trezor's webpage based interface, hard to keep wallet screen available.
- This is a really nice crypto wallet that is very easy to use. The ledger team are constantly supporting new currencies and there are a lot of good resources for crypto beginners on this wallet.
- I was pleasantly surprised to find that the "Ledger Manager" Chrome app now supports many more currencies/apps including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Private, Digibyte, HCash, Qtum, PIVX, Stealthcoin, Vertcoin, Viacoin, Ubiq, Expanse, Dash, Dogecoin, Ethereum, Fido U2F, Litecoin, etc
- A very nice hardware wallet for anyone who is starting to invest more into crypto currencies. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is wanting to make the plunge deeper into crypto.
- Bought this wallet to hold other currencies that other wallets do not hold; holding 3 different types of currencies on this ledger as of now. The setup process was a breeze, took about 20 minutes, the security feels pretty secure to gain access.
- Setup leaves a bit to be desired. Writing a recovery key on a piece of a paper feels tacky.
- Previously this was not advertised but now you can see it on their website how-to sections: you can't have more than 4-5 crypto apps installed at one time. What is this?
- The app structure is a little confusing at first, the ledger bitcoin app can also do bitcoin cash and litecoin. However there is an official bitcoin cash app now.
