The Best Teeth Whitening Kit

The WhiteLabs whitening product is one of the most popular kits available on sale today - it's one of those few products that doesn't cost a fortune and yet ensures quick and fantastic results.

As many other teeth whitening kits out there, the WhiteLabs comes with a LED light, whitening gel, two trays, and a shade guide. Also, it includes two vitamin E syringes to remove whitening gel from gums if it gets there accidentally and detailed instructions on the use of the set.

The advantage of the WhiteLabs whitening product is that it can be used right out of the box. All you will need to do for that is hot work the trays so that they take the shape of your teeth. One other benefit of the kit is that the included gel comes in synergies, making it way easier to apply it to the trays without wastes. The amount of gel is sufficient for undergoing 14 whitening procedures. However, you should see the first noticeable results already after a couple uses. Such efficiency is achieved thanks to the fact that the gel enabling quick teeth whitening and approved by dentists all over the world. Because of such high concentration of a whitening component, the manufacturer recommends leaving the gel on teeth for no longer than 15 minutes at a time so as not to cause enamel irritation.

Without a doubt, this professional teeth whitening kit is worth investment. It is easy to use and it can help keep your smile white all year round. You will only need to stock up on a few syringes that can be ordered from the manufacturer for a reasonable price.

Simple Molding

If you are new to teeth whitening, you might wrongly believe that molding trays is a challenging task. We'd like to assure you that this procedure is simpler than you might think. All trays are produced of the standard size and made from the kind of material that allows them to change their shape when heated. When the tray cools down, it becomes solid again. So in order to make trays fit your mouth and teeth ideally, you will need two glasses of water, hot and cold. First, you'll need to submerge a mouthpiece into the glass with hot water for about 6 - 10 seconds and then put it in your mouth over the teeth so that it fits them tightly without letting the air in. Hold it so for a few seconds and then immerse it in the other glass with cold water so that it becomes solid again. You can repeat this procedure as many times as you need in order to achieve the best fit.

Keep note that it's not advised to use boiling water as it might melt the tray. It's best to mix it with water a bit colder than that. Plus, when you mold trays, you should separate them from each other because if immersed in hot water together they might get stuck.

If you experience any issues when molding trays, you can always refer to the instructions that come supplied with the kit. They contain clear and detailed information regarding how to mold trays properly and how to use the set afterwards.

Noticeable Results After the Third Use

The DentalCare Labs teeth whitening kit is an excellent product for those who’d like to achieve an icy white smile quickly, effortlessly, and for a long time.

So what do you get with this set? The kit includes two syringes that contain enamel safe whitening gel necessary for removing stains and brightening teeth. This gel boasts of a unique formula which allows it to whiten teeth by several shades after only 6 - 10 procedures and provide notable results already after the third use. That said, we'd like to point out that the effectiveness of results depends on the severity of stains and might take longer for a smoker with dark yellow teeth to get the same white teeth as for someone who doesn't smoke.

The DentalCare Labs teeth whitening kit comes with two mouth trays with a LED light attached to them. This means you don’t need to hold a LED lamp with your hands or lips. The process is much simpler than that: all you need is to put a tray in your mouth and keep it there for 15 minutes. While this part is simpler than in many similar whitening tooth kits, one thing that some people might find a bit inconvenient is that the fact that the gel is supposed to be applied directly to the enamel which usually takes longer compared to spreading it to the tray. And yet, this shouldn't be considered as a drawback given that applying gel this way helps achieve better distribution and, consequently, better results.

So if you are searching for a kit that would deliver as good results as those provided by professional teeth whitening products but won't cost as much, the one in question is certainly a good option.

The Importance of Remineralization

It's known that enamel is essential to protect the inner layers of teeth such as dentin, pulp, and a root canal from decay. With time, though, the enamel becomes thinner and unlike bones that consist of living cells capable of restoring themselves, it destroys completely if demineralized. So it's important to prevent demineralization. What are the reasons that cause enamel decay? Let's take a look at some of the most obvious ones. Everyone’s mouth has bacteria that interact with sugars from food and drinks we consume daily. Such interaction causes the increase of bacteria’s acid which, in turn, starts the process of demineralization and tooth decay. As a result, it leads to the appearance of a tooth cavity in the future. To prevent this from happening, all you need is to take advantage of a remineralization gel. This gel helps treat enamel and allows preventing cavity formation. Many teeth whitening kits out there come including this exact type of gel, making them a solid choice for those with sensitive teeth who are concerned about their enamel. If you're looking for such supplement as well, the DentalCare Labs is your best choice as it will let you kill two birds with one stone: repair the enamel after a whitening procedure and prevent dental demineralization.

Reliable Assistant at Teeth Whitening

The MagicBrite teeth whitening kit is made safe, efficient, and user-friendly. Using this kit you'll achieve quick results that will be easy to maintain by doing quick touch-ups. In simpler words, what you get is a fast bleaching that can be seen after already a few treatments. For this same reason, however, the manufacturer doesn't recommend treating sensitive teeth more than once in 3-4 days. On the other hand, if you experience no discomfort after procedures, you can keep using the MagicBrite every day for 10 days in a row. Just make sure not to hold the gel on your teeth longer than 15 minutes at a time in order to avoid over-bleaching and hypersensitivity of the enamel. By the way, if some gel accidentally gets onto your gums, the kit contains special vitamin E swab that you can use to remove it quickly.

Now, speaking of the convenience of use, the kit includes two moldable trays that you can modify to fit your jowl. All you'll need to do is immerse each of them into hot water, then insert the trays around your teeth (don't worry, they won’t cause burns), and form them by sucking out excess air and gently pressing them with your hands. Now the trays are ready to use. Cut the tips off the trays, spread the whitening gel evenly over the mouthpieces, put them into your mouth with the LED light switched on, and enjoy. When the procedure is over, you'll have a chance to compare your results with those provided in the manual containing shade grades that can be achieved.

Overall, if you are looking for a professional quality teeth whitening kit with LED light that will be simple in use and allow you to change your teeth beyond recognition, the MagicBrite set is the right choice.

Useful Advice

Before starting at-home teeth whitening procedures, make sure that there are no contradictions that may refrain you from doing that. This way, if you have enamel hypersensitivity or tooth decay, you will need to first treat and reverse dental problems and only then consider applying any whitening products. Neglecting these rules may lead to the occurrence of hypersensitivity and enamel damage. If your teeth are naturally very sensitive, it's advised to prepare them for this procedure in advance too. For that, you may want to use some fluoride rinse or toothpaste a few weeks before the date when you plan to start white teething treatments. Also, it's recommended to test gel by applying a few drops of it on one tooth. If no discomfort or sensitivity occurs, then it's safe to undergo a whitening procedure.

Even if you have no cavities or other problems that could impede your experience, it's recommended to hold gel less than it's specified in the instructions and always apply a remineralization gel afterwards. When done right, there should not be any uncomfortable feelings after the procedure.

Long Run Investment

The MS.DEAR home teeth whitening kit attracted our attention due to its relatively low price and impressive results. The main whitening component in this gel is 44% carbonite peroxide that allows it to whiten teeth by several shades already after the second use which is nothing short of amazing. Unlike most kits we've reviewed here, you'll need to hold this one for almost half an hour instead of 10-15 minutes, however, do not keep it on your teeth longer than that in order to prevent enamel damage and do not repeat this procedure more often than once a week. Such frequency will be enough to keep teeth in good condition without causing any harm. You may want to bleach your teeth twice a week at first but there's no need to undergo daily procedures unless your teeth are very stained. If that's the case, however, what we'd definitely recommend you to do is visit your dentist so that he or she could choose a whitening method that will be most suitable for you.

Aside from low price and great efficiency, what we like about this kit is its usability. In contrast with many other kits out there, this one comes supplied with 10 syringes of whitening gel which is almost 5 times more than average. This means you'll have a sufficient amount of gel to last for at least 20 bleaching sessions and even more if you're a non-smoker and follow proper oral hygiene. Now, turning to the financial side, one such procedure will cost you less than 1 dollar which makes it one of the most cost-effective solutions out there. With this kit, you will not need to buy any supplements for a whole year.

Common Causes of Yellow Teeth

As you know our teeth become yellow with age. This is a natural process we can’t stop, but we can slow it down by looking after the health of our teeth. This includes the elimination or minimization of unhealthy habits that contribute to teeth staining.

It is no news that dark liquids make our teeth yellow. So if you get used to starting your day with a cup of coffee, rinse your mouth afterwards.

Smoking is one of the hardest colorants as fas as teeth are concerned. Stains from cigarettes are very difficult to remove. So if you'd like to keep your teeth in good condition and maintain a healthy, white smile, the best thing to do is quit smoking. This will not only help in keeping teeth white but also allow you to improve your well-being.

Very poor oral hygiene inevitably results in making teeth more yellow than they are. Plus, irregular teeth brushing habits lead to bacteria growth and appearance of tooth cavities in the future.

Trauma or erosion of the enamel is another cause that affects the color of teeth.

That being said, yellow teeth do not always indicate bad hygiene or unhealthy habits. Genetics plays a huge role not only in the color of our eyes and hair. We inherit a lot before our birth and the teeth are on that list. It's often genetics that determines how fast our enamel will wear down and what color it will be. Luckily today there are many effective ways to make our teeth shine athwart genetics.

The DentaWhite kit comes supplied with instructions where you can find common recommendations and cautions to be aware of before treatment. The most crucial one is to refrain from applying whitening products if you have a gingival hemorrhage or any other dental disease.

In general, however, if you have no problems with teeth or gums and seek an affordable and effective at-home teeth whitening kit to make your smile icy white, the DentaWhite set is the right choice.

Information About Side Effects

Though most teeth whitening kits available for purchase are made safe to be used at home, it is so as long as you follow the included instructions. Trying to play a trick by holding the gel longer than recommended in order to achieve faster results may lead to the opposite effect, in fact. So what are the actual risks? Let's find out together.

Hypersensitivity is a very strong reaction of teeth to the contact with hot or cold water and food. For people with sensitive teeth, bleaching may amplify this reaction drastically. So if you have sensitive teeth, it's advised to make procedures shorter and use treatment gel after every bleaching session. That said, people with healthy teeth may also have hypersensitivity should they hold whitening gel longer than it's recommended by dentists.

Irritation of gums is one more common problem among novice users. Some components is cytotoxic. So if it accidentally gets on the mucous membrane, it should be removed immediately, otherwise, it may cause very strong irritation of soft tissues in a mouth.

Uneven results, as well as over-bleaching, are another unpleasant consequences of teeth whitening. The former is usually caused by uneven spreading of whitening gel over teeth or breaking the white diet after the treatment.

And if you get too white teeth after bleaching, the reason may hide in too long sessions. This is mostly concerned the products with high concentration of a whitening ingredient.

What Is a Teeth Whitening Kit?

Without a doubt, oral hygiene has become more affordable and accessible for everyone today. Moreover, now, unless you need some professional treatment, most basic procedures can easily be done at home provided that you have an appropriate device for that. One of such devices is a water flosser that can help you rinse all those hard-to-reach places between your teeth or gingival pocket where a regular toothbrush can't get. This way you receive a professional treatment right in your own bathroom.

Bleaching teeth is even simpler. There is a vast variety of whitening products on the market, such as strips, toothpaste, whitening pens, powders, and teeth whitening kits, which are designed for this particular purpose. Depending on your needs, preferences, expectations, and budget you can choose the most suitable whitening product that will allow you to make your smile brighter in short terms.

In this review though, we’d like to tell you about professional teeth whitening kits. The advantage of these kits is that they provide a strong and long-lasting bleaching effect very similar to that you get at the dentist’s. As well as most other whitening products out there, these kits come with a whitening gel. The gel works in conjunction with a LED light (that should be directed at teeth) which helps activate special components to banish and remove unsightly stains from the enamel of teeth.

This method of teeth whitening is user-friendly and safe for teeth enamel. Plus, it allows you to restain teeth after only 7 – 14 sessions and enjoy the result for quite a long time.

What Features to Compare

Obviously, every user has his own criteria for choosing the best teeth whitening kit, and yet most of them come down to these two: design of the unit and overall simplicity of teeth whitening. The problem is, it's easy to get confused due to a variety of products available, with all of them offering quick and super effective results. Which is exactly why you should take into account these few factors which will help you select a product worth your investment.

The concentration of whitening components

Any teeth whitening gel includes an ingredient that breaches the enamel to change its color when it enters into a reaction with LED light. The concentration of the latter component is always higher but the impact is similar. In order to get a noticeable and long-lasting effect, it is better to select the kit with a higher concentration of peroxide. Take note though, you won’t find a legally approved kit with very high concentration of a whitening component. It can be obtained only from your dentist.

Natural whitening components

A lot of manufacturers offer their clients products that contain only harmless and natural ingredients such as coconut oil, charcoal, sodium bicarbonate, etc. They allow whitening teeth by a few shades while making them appear much cleaner. These components scrub off stains in the same way as a whitening toothpaste does. Yet, many of them cannot handle deeper stains and are effective at removing only surface stains.

The tray

Every teeth whitening kit with a LED light comes with one or two trays. These trays are used to provide proper contact of gel with teeth during a whitening procedure. Using trays allows whitening teeth evenly and helps prevent gel swallowing. Since all of these trays are produced of the standard size, it's easy to mold them to fit any mouth. All you will need to do for that is put them in hot work before the first use. The process is simple and won't take you long. But if you wish to get a specially designed tray, you can order it from your dentist. Take note though, this service is quite expensive.

Usability

The last but definitely not the least feature to pay attention to is how simple and convenient a bleaching kit is in use. You will notice that most products differ in the amount of bleaching gel they come with. In most cases, however, the supplied amount of gel should be enough for undergoing the full course. At the same time, there are those kits that contain more gel, providing you with a few more syringes to have in reserve. If your teeth are sensitive, we'd advise you to go for a kit containing syringes with a rehydration gel. This type of gel allows teeth to recover faster and helps reduce the discomfort which might occur. Also, since a whitening procedure takes time (from 15 to 30 minutes at a time), some whitening kits include LED lights with built-in timers which activate every 10 minutes so you can track how much time you've got left. This is a helpful feature that can spare you the need to keep an eye on your watch. Though not a critical factor, getting a shade guide together with a kit is a nice bonus. With its help, observing changes in your teeth with every procedure will be much easier and more convenient.

Knowing these several factors should help you pick a good home teeth whitening kit. So we offer you to read on these five teeth whitening kit reviews and choose the one that suits you most.

Facts About Teeth Whitening That Everyone Should Know

Teeth absorb the color of the food we eat

Did you know that our teeth have pores just like our skin does? If you look under the microscope at tooth enamel, you will see that it has a spongy texture. So it is absolutely normal that your teeth change their color over time. Especially if you are a smoker or can’t imagine your day without a few cups of coffee. The stains from coffee, wine, and cigarettes will stay on your teeth forever unless you actively remove them. If this is your goal, a teeth bleaching product should be right up your alley. Any modern teeth whitening kit includes a professional teeth whitening gel which contains a special component that pushes stains out through the pores of your teeth.

The procedure is safe

It is a widespread myth that teeth whitening gel can damage the enamel of a tooth. The truth is that if you use a high-quality product and follow all the instructions, teeth whitening doesn’t cause any damage to the enamel. As we have mentioned before, the bleaching gel uses active components that open pores and remove stains from them. This procedure is very gentle, plus, professional gels contain special ingredients that help your teeth remineralize and rehydrate after each session.

It’s ok if your teeth become sensitive after a whitening procedure

Teeth sensitivity is completely normal within 12-36 hours after a whitening session. Hypersensitivity (a reaction to very cold/hot food and liquid) occurs more often if the enamel of a tooth is thin, damaged or cracked. Genetics also plays a big role in the level of tooth sensitivity.

Besides, after whitening, your teeth become temporarily dehydrated, so it is difficult to insulate nerves from temperature changes. Oftentimes, sensitivity disappears the day after the session, so you won’t have to wait long. Plus, you can try to avoid consuming food or drinks that cause irritation. On the other hand, you can use a post whitening fluoride treatment to help your teeth recover faster.

Give it some time

Unfortunately, no matter how hard we want it, there are no teeth whitening procedures that can make our teeth snow white after a single session. The thing is that it takes a long time to form stains on the teeth, so it is chemically impossible to remove them in 15 minutes. Plus, the number of whitening procedures depends on the severity of stains. The truth is that it usually takes 5 sessions and more to whiten teeth significantly.

Only teeth can be bleached

You can’t bleach veneers, caps, etc. because the material they are made from can’t be changed (stained or whitened). They are created individually to match the color and the shape of the surrounding teeth. So if you are going to install veneers on your front teeth, for instance, and decide to whiten them after a while, you should take this fact into account. The good news is, you won’t damage dental work with whitening.

The evening is the best time for teeth whitening

In order to get the best results, it is recommended to whiten teeth just before bed. During the first hours after such a procedure, the enamel is very susceptible to restaining because the pores are still open and sensitive. So by whitening your teeth before going to bed, you give them time to rehydrate and recover from the procedure.

Not all of us can get perfectly white teeth

Unfortunately, the natural color of our teeth is a genetic factor that is already set before our birth. Basically, a whitening product (strips or a professional kit) can only remove stains from food and liquids that were accumulated over time.

FAQ:

Q: How often should I whiten my teeth?

A: The number of whitening procedures will be different for every user since it depends on the yellowness of teeth and the whitening product you use. Most of at-home whitening kits require 7 - 14 treatments. Some products may need more whitening sessions. Dentists recommend users to repeat their teeth whitening treatment no more than twice a year.

Q: What does the bleaching percentage mean?

A: It refers to the concentration of bleaching agent in the whitening gel. The higher this figure is, the stronger the whitening effect. Take note though, a high percentage also means faster whitening. That is to say, you can hold the 10-16% gel a bit longer than the 20-22% gel with no damage to the enamel.

Q: Do I need to buy extra syringes for my kit?

A: Well, it depends on many things. For starters, it is the amount of gel and the concentration of the whitening agent in it that matter. 0.5 ml is an average amount of gel needed for one procedure. However, you might need to get more syringes for touchups if you decide to repeat your treatment after six months.

Q: How long should I wait after whitening before eating or drinking?

A: Well, it is recommended to eat and drink not sooner than 30 minutes after the procedure. But, in order to strengthen the effect of teeth whitening, you should take a white diet for the next 48 hours after bleaching. This means you should avoid consuming food or liquids that have a strong coloring effect such as coffee, black tea, blueberries, beet, etc. Smoking, as well as coffee, makes your teeth yellow most of all. So if you can, it will be great to avoid them for a few days. We would recommend you to quit such a bad habit as smoking though if you have it.

Q: Is a teeth bleaching result permanent?

A: Unfortunately, even after professional whitening our teeth become yellow with time and there are several reasons for that. First and foremost, they change color with age. The thing is that the enamel becomes thinner making our teeth more sensitive and yellow. This is a natural color changing. Our food habits are another factor that affects these changes. As we've mentioned earlier, there are certain food products that stain the enamel of teeth resulting in its changing color.

Q: What can I do to prolong the effect of teeth bleaching?

A: In addition to the recommendations that you should follow during the first 48 hours after the procedure, there are a few more things you can do.

  1. Brush your teeth twice a day and floss them every evening to remove tooth pellicle and food debris. Not only will this help you to keep teeth white longer it will also help you prevent caries formation.
  2. Rinse your mouth after you consume stain-causing food and drinks.
  3. Repeat the treatment twice a year. If you are a smoker, you may need to do it more often. But we would recommend you to increase the frequency of treatment only after your dentist allows you to.
  4. You can also use a whitening toothpaste. Unfortunately, it won’t whiten your teeth as specially designed whitening products will do, but it is a good supplement to the later. By the way, it is better to use such a paste a few times a week only and a regular toothpaste for the rest of the time.
