The World of Time-Steeped Tea

Chefast Combo Kit is fantastic. First things first, 304 is not only the number but also the name of this game. That's that extra-fine, premium-grade stainless steel that will not dent, will not fall victim to rust and corrosion, and will remain looking fresh for years to come. The high-strength, durable construction also allows you to use these tools to infuse spices and herbs into dishes and soups.

What are these tools though? Well, these tools are as follows - one single-cup tea infuser, one large tea infuser, and one tea scoop. The single-cup one is pretty self-explanatory, while the large steeper will let you brew multiple cups, serving entire gatherings. Using the tea scoop, you'll always be able to measure and put the precise amount of tea, without making the drink taste too bitter or too mild and underdeveloped. Plus, the scoop's divided handle with the clipping mechanism will allow you to clip open tea wraps, making sure that the aroma stays with the leaves.

There's not much we dislike about this kit except that the lids come off too easily, so you'll have to be relatively cautious with them. Apart from that, Chefast Combo Kit will invite you to the world of time-steeped tea that tastes like something brewed by pros.

Better Taste with More Flavor

Yoassi Extra Fine 18/8 Stainless Steel Tea Infuser is less about guesswork and more about meticulous precision. Kicking things off with the model's construction, the steeper has been made from 8/18 food-grade stainless steel. We're talking about the finest stainless steel grade here that comes packing no chemicals and that does not retain odors. The steel's no issues with dishwashers and is easy to clean with or without any machinery-derived assistance.

The basket's massive, measuring around 4.6 x 3.5 x 3.2 inches, which is no coincidence as the increased size makes sure that the tea is not cramped inside and is circulating. That's how the leaves are able to infuse the water with their full flavor. Meanwhile, the sturdy lid makes sure that the steeping goodness does not evaporate and also prevents messes and keeps the drink warm. The holes are tiny but abundant, making sure that even the finest leaves (like Rooibos and most herbal teas and green teas) do not escape the basket. Plus, with more holes, the water is flowing freely, making the tea to diffuse quicker.

Last but not least, the infuser comes fitted with two massive handles, measuring 5 inches width-wise and 3 inches height-wise. They're able to rest on the cup's edges without wiggling and will fit most cups, mugs, and tea pots. The handles make the basket easy to insert and also easy to remove. Plus, the long and wide handles make sure that the basket will not fall into the biggest mugs and will not float.

Bottom line, Yoassi Extra Fine 18/8 Stainless Steel Tea Infuser is packing only one steeper but its well-thought-out construction makes the product more appealing than most combo kits.

No Place Like Home

House Again Tea Ball Infuser looks almost venerate and esteemed, like something you can gift to the daintiest without them scoffing at you with disdain. But, even though the infuser looks the part, this model's not pretentious at all.

Everything here makes sense, starting with the extra-fine mesh holes that will be holding tea leaves, particles, and grinds intact, all while letting the flavor drift out. The lid will sometimes prove quite hard to screw on and off but, setting these struggles aside, is an excellent addition to the package as it is able to minimize evaporation and prevent spills.

The whole thing's made from 18/8 food-grade stainless steel, with the food-grade part implying that the construction is chemicals- and odor-free. The "whole thing" that we're referring to here includes the saucer that will allow you to avoid making a mess when taking the steeper out.

Before that though, let's finish examining the strainer, especially its threaded connection that makes the basket easy to open and close tight and makes sure that leaves do not leak out while brewing. Aside from this threaded connection, what also sets this product apart is the extended 4.7-inch chain that will allow you to brew tea not only inside tea pots and mugs but also bottles, putting House Again Tea Ball Infuser among the most versatile tea infusers out there.

Twisting and Stirring

OXO BREW Twisting Tea Ball Infuser is the least complicated/convoluted implement on this list and we are not complaining at all. Even little children will be able to figure out and use this one with ease. That being said, there's enough to unwrap here too, so let's get started.

First, the twisting mechanism makes filling the head with large amounts of loose leaf tea that much easier. Plus, the spinning design makes the model pretty easy to clean too, both manually and via dishwashers. Second, the head is quite generous, so you'll be able to make the drink as strong as you want.

The holes are fine but not that fine, so this mesh tea infuser works best with whole-leaf teas, not unlike pearl teas, large-leaf black teas, and full-leaf green teas. The head's compatible with herbs and spices too but the smallest leaves will occasionally leak out of the infuser, so loose-leaf teas are not the best fit with this model.

On the upside, the handle is plenty long, fitting most cups and mugs and allowing the head to rest on the sides for prolonged steeping. What's more, the soft, non-slip grip on the handle will make sure that you're able to twist and stir with comfort and ease.

Simply put, as long as you're not that into small- and broken-leaf teas, OXO BREW Twisting Tea Ball Infuser is an excellent and affordable investment that we cannot recommend highly enough.

Getting the Job Done

Fu Store Stainless Steel Mesh Tea Balls get the job done, which is more than the product's price bracket demands. They're made using 304-grade stainless steel, making the balls durable and not necessarily susceptible to rust and corrosion. That also makes the infusers unlikely to warp. The mesh's not that durable though, so we would recommend avoiding dishwashing these infusers and handwashing them instead. On the bright side, the mesh holes are fine enough not to trap leaf residue, so you can basically rinse them under the tap and you're good to go without having to pick out remaining leaves.

You can use these balls to brew loose-leaf tea varieties, bouquet garnish, and even spices to make mulled wine. The clasps close the balls shut so that you do not have to worry about them opening and dropping the leaves inside the mug. Setting these clasps aside, the ball-shaped infusers we're reviewing here are armed with chains with hooks. The hooks make sure the chain does not fall into the mug, letting you remove the ball without getting your hands wet.

To sum this up, Fu Store Stainless Steel Mesh Tea Balls is what you buy when you're not that into tea but would still like to drink full-flavored beverages rather than that filth that you get from brewing bags. Also, they're very much portable, so you can bring these balls with you on the road.

What Is a Tea Infuser?

Tea is the best, we're not willing to entertain any rebuttals regarding this statement. You can like coffee too, there's nothing wrong with that. But there's something about tea that, when brewed right, makes the drinking experience almost spiritual (cue Japanese and Chinese tea ceremonies). We're not here to initiate you though, what we're doing here is but listing and reviewing tea infusers that allow you to experience what tea is supposed to taste like when you ditch the cheap bags and brew it right.

With these reusable infusers, even complete newbies are able to brew delicious tea. That said, there are some differences between these kits/models, starting with the preceding separation. In addition to infusers, kits might include additional infusers, saucers, and tea scoops. Even then, all infusers are fitted with mesh holes, the only difference being the size that makes them more and less suitable for loose-leaf teas. The handles and the lids can be quite different too, so pay attention to details like clasps, locks, rivets, and other metal parts that make these parts more secure and more comfortable to work with.

As long as you're willing to admit that tea is the superior drink, we can recommend also looking into these coffee grinders and coffee roasters.
