The fat tires will provide extra balance and stability so that you can hit the shakiest roads without worrying about falling off the bike. The console with the LCD screen is packed to the brim with awesome features, from limiting max speed to cruise control.
The bike's pretty heavy (not unlike most bikes with fat tires though).
With most bikes, beaches, tall grass, and snow make the ride downright depressing. When you hop on the ECOTRIC Fat Tire Electric Bike though, you can tackle these terrains with the same speed, comfort, and confidence that you would any asphalt and pavements.

Go Fat or go Home
When push comes to shove, the ECOTRIC Fat Tire Electric Bike rises to the occasion, even when that occasion entails the worst roads imaginable. The bike's not cheap, let's start with that. But, considering the specs and the build, this e-MTB easily earns its keep.
First things first, the bike comes equipped with fat, wide, four-inch tires. These tires go from snow to sand, from gravel roads to muddy grounds, keeping the ride smooth and fluid, without losing any speed and without making you experience these terrain changes. Fat bikes are becoming the most preferred bicycles these days among biking enthusiasts because, with fat tires, you can go anywhere, from beaches to rough trails, not looking at the map, not worrying about any conditions, etc. To add more, fat tires are all durable from the get-go and these ones are additionally fitted with puncture-resistant coating, so even most sharp objects will not be able to cut these tires.
As always, fat tires contribute towards the bike's weight, so you'll be lugging somewhere around 60 pounds from time to time but that's the compromise that we're willing to make any day of the week. Besides everything we've mentioned above, the same physics laws apply to these tires too, meaning that their "fatness" also gives you more balance and stability, making the ride safer compared to bikes with standard MTB tires.
26 Miles Per Hour
The tires are great but we've been raving so much about them like they're the most important piece of this puzzle and, to be frank, they are probably not. At the very least, these tires are no more important than the model's 1000-watt brushless motor. With this motor, you'll be able to hit 26 mph, which's massive given that most electric fat bikes and even most e-MTBs with standard tires cap at around 20 mph, so the bicycle will allow you to reach tremendous speeds. Sure, the 48-volt battery, as good as it is, will only give you ~25 miles, so you won't be riding at these tremendous speeds for hours but you can always take the bike for a spin and have more fun within the same timeframe than most e-bikes can lend.
Aside from these two parameters, the fastest electric MTB on this list not that different from most electric bikes that sit between mid-range and premium price brackets. There's this nice USB port behind the console that will let you recharge the phone while riding but that's about it.
Bottom line, with the ECOTRIC Fat Tire Electric Bike, you can go anywhere, no road is too rough, no hill is too steep to climb, and no ground too shaky.

Elegant yet Brash
The NCM Prague Electric Mountain Bike is tough and sturdy yet lightweight and quite nimble. According to the people behind the product, the bike will take you places where dreams are born, talking about places that roadies are too afraid to tackle. From where we're standing, the line's pretty cocky but not necessarily inaccurate.
While Prague is synonymous with the city's stunning architecture, the model's synonymous with its elegant outline, agile profile, and precise handling. You can go from climbing gravel trails to taming the concrete jungle and experience very little difference between these terrains, primarily thanks to the stout Suntour XCT coil fork and pre-load adjustment. Likewise, the Schwalbe Smart Sam tires will be contributing to an awesome all-around ride, adding dependable off-road grip and smooth-rolling on most roads.
The bike weighs ~55 pounds, pretty lightweight considering the aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum construction that makes the frame resistant to the elements and deformation. Though the model's motor normally draws and outputs only 350 watts, it peaks at 468 watts, allowing the bicycle to reach 20 mph within 15-20 seconds tops (depending on the ground's flatness). Of course, with great speed, you need great stopping power, which's where the Tektro MD-M280 forged aluminum brakes calipers come into play. Outfitted with ceramic compound brake pads, the brakeset can stop the bike on a dime, even when the conditions are far from favorable.
Smooth and Responsive Drivetrain
The model's not without its flaws, that much goes without saying. But, setting any subjective issues aside, the only problem that will affect most riders is that the bike is shipped without a headlamp, so you'll have to purchase one separately if you want to ride at night. On the upside, the sporks come adopting reflectors, meaning that drivers and riders will see you at night and are less likely to cause any accidents.
Most e-bike enthusiasts argue that electric bikes are only as good as the battery. On that note, cue the model's 36-volt lithium-Ion battery that's packing serious juice, allowing you to hit somewhere between 20 and 40 miles per full charge, depending on how much pedaling you're willing to add.
Last but not least, the bike is armed with Shimano's 21-speed drivetrain. With this smooth and responsive drivetrain, you'll be going from climbing steep hills to racing through/across flat runs without experiencing any discomfort shifting.
In other words, the NCM Prague Electric Mountain Bike will give you the means to ride with style and finesse without fretting about what lies ahead.

No Pothole is Good Enough
The Ancheer Electric Mountain Bike means business. This is not the most expensive e-bike yet its specs and construction are good enough to tussle with the best mid-range electric bicycles and even some premium models. Starting with the frame, the bike's made from heavy-duty aluminum alloy, while the front fork is mixed with high-strength carbon. Setting materials aside, the same fork adopts excellent shock-absorption mechanisms, which means that most potholes will not be throwing you off balance. Working towards the same goal, the model's armed with double-layer aluminum alloy 26-inch wheels, tough enough to handle most trails without making the ride all rough and shaky.
You can choose between 250- and 500-watt models, though we'd recommend sticking with the second one since that's the one that will allow you to reach 20 mph, which is the speed that usually convinces people to make the switch from ordinary bicycles to e-bikes. What stops some people from making the switch is that most electric bicycles' batteries give out before even giving you 20 miles, leaving you forced to pedal the entire way back. With the model's 36-volt, 12.5-amp battery, pretty much the opposite's the case. Sure, the distance will always depend on the mode you're sticking with and how much pedaling you're adding but, even when you go with the throttle-only mode, the battery will usually last at least 25 miles, which's quite substantial, especially when you take the model's modest price into account.
Adaptable E-MTBs
Even though the console's not packing that many features, some find the controls somewhat inconvenient anyway. But, again, because there are not too many different modes here, you'll have them out and get used to the console within the first few rides. Plus, rated IPX4, the console is splash-resistant from any direction, so you can ride without worrying about damaging its circuitry.
Safety and security are not something you'll have to worry about too, thanks to the dependable front and rear disc brakes that easily bring this electric bike to an abrupt halt, even when you're going 15+ mph. The LED headlamp is bright enough to enable safe and comfortable nighttime riding, while the loud horn will allow you to avoid most accidents. Besides these two, there's also the kickstand that easily balances the bike and prevents it from falling when left unattended.
In short, the Ancheer Electric Mountain Bike will be able to facilitate daily commuting, cruising mountains, and meandering along bumpy trails, making this e-bike more versatile than most within this price range.

Sleek and Aggressive
The CLIENSY Aluminum Electric Mountain Bike looks awesome, that's what we'll begin with. The paintwork is sleek, the outline is smooth and streamlined, the entire construction looks subtle and discreet, without flashy cosmetics yet also not without noticeable character and edge that separate this bike from most electric models that can look pretty bland and uninspired sometimes. With its aggressive, imposing profile, the bike will allow you to move with style, going from city roads to muddy grounds. Plus, the model's constructed from durable high-strength aluminum alloy, which's surprising considering that the bike weighs less than 48 pounds, enabling excellent maneuverability so that even jumping from high curbs, something that e-bikes are usually unable to accommodate, will not be out of the question here.
Pivoting towards the "electric" part, the model's equipped with this solid 350-watt motor, good enough to propel the bike to 20 mph in ~20 seconds as long as the ground is flat enough. Working with the motor, the battery here is adequate but nothing to write home about. When you go with the throttle-only option, the battery will die out before you reach the 19th mile, which's not bad but most batteries within this price range give you around 20 miles, a small but noticeable difference. That being said, the Assisted Bicycle mode will extend the battery's charge from ~18.5 miles to ~37 miles, nothing to sneeze at even compared to much more expensive models.
Keyless Start System
The battery's fine, not the model's biggest strength yet not something we'd list under its flaws. What we would list under the bike's flaws is the front suspension fork with its limited travel, meaning that you'll be feeling most pebbles under the tires.
On the bright side, the keyless start system that this product is adopting is huge. All you have to do is squeeze the "M" key, holding the button somewhere between 2 and 5 seconds, then the display light will flash and you're ready to go, without bringing any keys with you that you can lose somewhere down the road.
On the same side are the model's tough brakes that interrupt any motion without hesitation and Shimano's 21-speed gearing that increase the bike's ability to climb hills, provide more range variation, as well as improve its terrain adaptability.
To sum up, the CLIENSY Aluminum Electric Mountain Bike is all about giving you more freedom, more fun, and clout points when you're racing other riders.

User-Friendly Console
The Ancheer 350W Electric Mountain Bike can roll, even though the bike's pretty cheap compared to most e-MTBs. Needless to say, the bike has its shortcomings, they all do. But, from where we're standing, they're pretty negligible. First, the 36-volt battery is only packing 7.8 amps, so the bicycle will usually turn from an electric bike into a standard bike within the first ~18 miles. In other words, the battery's capacity caps at around 18 miles.
Of course, provide the battery with some pedaling assistance and you'll be able to extend the charge from <20 to 30+ miles using the Assisted Bicycle mode. You can also switch between throttle-only and bike-only modes and achieve the same results except you'll be going from no pedaling to light pedaling rather than sticking with moderate pedaling the entire time. The console is concise and straightforward, so you'll be able to easily switch between these modes without looking away from the road ahead. There are LED indicators that display the mode you've initiated and running with, which means you won't be confusing them. Also, the console's IP65 water-resistant, making its circuitry protected against water jets from any angle.
The second issue that's also not that severe that we have with this bike is the kickstand. To be more precise, the non-adjustable kickstand, so you'll be forced to somewhat march to the kickstand's drum positioning-wise. Then again, when the second biggest issue with any bicycle is its kickstand, you're not dealing with the worst bike, that much is certain.
Double-Walled Rims
The company always outfits its bikes with great frames and this one's no exception. Adopting an aviation-grade aluminum alloy frame that's both strong, durable, and also lightweight, adding maneuverability points and, with double-walled rims, making sure that the bike can handle any bumps and potholes. Meanwhile, the high-strength suspension fork that you'll find at the front will be absorbing shock and smoothing out the ride.
Apart from everything we've mentioned above, the bike's not that different from most e-MTBs, including Shimano's drivetrain with 21 available speeds and mechanical front and rear disc brakes that are excellent at bringing the bicycle to an abrupt stop. Also, you can choose between 26- and 27.5-inch rims and adjust the saddle's height, making the bike versatile and adaptable to most riders.
Long story short, the Ancheer 350W Electric Mountain Bike's specs and construction put the product in the mid-range price bracket, while the price is not even 50 bucks above what you'd describe as the budget segment.

What Is an Electric Mountain Bike?
Mountain bikes are great because they allow you to explore the roads that standard bikes cannot handle at all. The issue with mountain bikes is that they're not as nimble as city bikes with skinny tires, so you need to buy two bikes when you want to commute via bicycle means too.
Cue electric mountain bikes. These bikes go anywhere. You can hit the trails, climb the mountains, challenge the off-roads on the weekends and then use the bike to commute on weekdays. The battery-powered electric motors make e-MTBs not only versatile but also more conducive towards much more variable adventures since you can climb the steepest hills and crush most slopes that bikes without motors cannot even dream to challenge. Not unlike standard trail bikes though, electric MTBs do not forget to include drivetrains with ~21 speeds, providing more terrain variation and improving the bike's terrain adaptability.
We're not saying that electric mountain bikes are cheap though. Quite the opposite. When you do not have the financial means, you can try fat tire bikes. With these bikes, you can plow through snow, sand, and mud without any assistance. On the opposite side, you have folding electric bikes, the most practical and convenient vehicles inside the city.
What Features to Compare
Frame
Any and every bike starts with the frame. The frame is the bicycle's cornerstone, foundation, its bedrock, the main ingredient, and the key element. When the frame's no good, you can pack the e-bike with the most premium components and sophisticated circuitry and they would not make any difference. More often than not, electric mountain bikes are made from high-strength aviation-grade aluminum to make the construction tough and sturdy but also not heavy so that you can go from prowling through the woods and conquering challenging trails to slicing and dicing across the city roads without lugging extra weight. That being said, the more lightweight the bicycle is, the less weight it is usually able to support, so that's something you ought to pay attention too.
Motor and Battery
Electric mountain bikes are electric bikes first and mountain bikes second, so the motor and the battery will determine its worth as much as the next component. Most e-MTBs come fitted with motors that fluctuate around 350 watts, with some reaching 500, and premium models even approaching 1000 watts. Though this is not the only indicator and you also have to consider peak wattage that can vary between motors with identical base wattage, these numbers will usually tell you the speed that the bike is able to reach, with 350-watt motors usually capping at ~20mph and motors that go above 500 watts able to hit 25 mph and more.
Suspension and Wheels
Mountain bikes can accommodate commuting needs, especially when they're electric. That being said, these bikes are designed to attack trails, off-roads, and mountains, hence the name. These terrains are not as polished as city roads, so you need an adequate suspension system to absorb shocks and make the ride nice and smooth, even when the ground is anything but smooth. As far as wheels are concerned, electric mountain bikes normally come equipped with double-walled aluminum alloy rims to handle bumps and potholes and MTB tires to let you tame the road less traveled. Sometimes, these bikes are adopting fat tires though, the differences between which we've reviewed below.
Brakes, Gearing, and Extras
With e-MTBs, brakes and gearing follow the common playbook deployed across most bicycles. The extras are the same, from LCD screens and different consoles to switch between the bike's e-modes to adjustable saddles, handlebars, grips, and more. Also, you have the pedals. When the pedals are flat, you can ride the bike wearing any shoes.
Fat Tires vs. Skinny Tires
Fat tires have somewhat started behind the eight ball since people used to think wide tires are slow compared to thin tires. That's not necessarily the case though. Sure, they're heavier but the weight difference is not that great and you ought to pay attention to other variables too that might contribute to weight, speed, traction, and so on. We're not saying that fat tires are flat-out better than skinny tires though. There are advantages and disadvantages to both types, so we've decided to explore them here.
Fat Tires
There are many advantages to fat tires. First and foremost, because these tires do not dig into the ground as much as skinny tires (thanks to the tires' increased surface), you're able to float over snow, sand, wet stone, muddy paths, and more. Decreasing the bike's and biker's cumulated pressure via extra contact with the surface, these bikes do not slip even when the ground is wet and do not crack when they come into contact with icy corners.
You do not need to inflate them as much. Even when the pressure drops as low as 10 PSI, the tires remain grippy and reliable. Plus, when the pressure is low, they're able to absorb more shock, making the ride smooth even when you're hitting pebbles, small sticks, potholes, and more.
Bikes with fat tires are better for beginners. Again, because the contract surface is increased, the bike gives you improved balance, we're talking rudimentary physics here. Even the least experienced riders can get used to these bikes within hours, making newbies less likely to injure themselves (also because you need to apply more pedaling to make the bike go as fast as bikes with skinny tires).
The downside is that fat tires are not as nimble as skinny tires and even standard MTB tires (again, with more size, you have more rolling resistance, thus more acceleration required). On the one hand, that means that bikes with fat tires allow you to exercise even more than standard bikes. On the other hand, you do not always want to exercise and that's understandable. They're also more expensive than standard tires but the prices are going down, so you purchase one these days without breaking the bank.
Skinny Tires
Skinnies have been around for a minute now, so they're more affordable than wide tires, that's where we'll start with them. As you would expect, skinny tires allow you to accelerate without spinning the pedals as hard as you do with fat tires.
Since there's less rolling resistance, electric bikes with skinny and MTB tires do not burn through the battery's charge as fast as e-bikes with fat tires do.
Turning and steering with skinny tires takes less effort than with fat tires, that much is certain. You can utilize the entire tire, which's hard to achieve when the tires are wide. Plus, the tires lean less into corners, so, from one perspective, they're more comfortable to maneuver.
All that being said, skinny tires are less stable and more skittish than wide tires, so you need to make sure you're maintaining perfect balance. Also, too much throttle can easily overwhelm the tires' reduced contact patch.
