Matching 160cc Gas Engines
The Greenworks PRO 21-Inch 80V Cordless Lawn Mower is the company's biggest, baddest machine to date. With this machine, you'll be able to cover 43,560 square feet, so no lawn is too big for the model to handle. What propels these numbers is the 80-volt lithium battery that delivers gas-equivalent power throughout the entire runtime. But the entire runtime here compared to most cordless lawn mowers is not even in the same ballpark. This machine is able to cut for 90 minutes straight, all while taking 60 minutes to fully recharge. In other words, you'll stop cutting only when you choose to stop cutting.
Sure, this is not about the battery alone. You also have the Smart Cut™ tech extending the machine's runtime, not unlike the DigiPro digital controlled brushless motor that matches 160-cc gas engines, giving you more torque for the buck. Reducing wear and tear, the motor also extends the mower's lifespan. Besides that, the motor does not heat up during use and remains practically silent, so you'll be spending no time on maintenance. Now, going back to the Smart Cut™ part, the model's able to automatically adjust the output based on the grass height, so all you have to do is switch between the seven positions than range from 1.375 to 3.75 inches and the machine will handle the rest.
Not Humble at All
Sometimes, GreenWorks lawn mowers can be pretty humble. This machine is anything but. With its 21-inch steel deck, the model's able to cut more grass, so you'll be spending less time running circles around the yard. Also, you won't have to worry about bumping into various obstacles, from small pebbles to sizable rocks, the deck can absorb them all. Meanwhile, the 7-inch front wheels and 10-inch rear wheels make this machine maneuverable enough to tackle any terrain, bumps and all.
With all these attributes, the model's downsides come as no surprise too. First, the machine measures 32.3 x 18.2 x 20.4 inches, more than most Greenworks lawn mowers but that makes sense considering its enlarged wheels and elongated deck. Second, weight-wise, this absolute unit measures above 60 pounds without batteries and above 65 pounds with the 4Ah battery inside. Again, you can see what that's the case and you can also see why these flaws are not something you'd want to complain about.
Long story short, the Greenworks PRO 21-Inch 80V Cordless Lawn Mower will aid homeowners who take on all jobs, big and small. With this machine, you'll be able to keep the most expansive lawn nice and neat.

Environment's Friend
There is a lot to like about this electric grass mower. But, if we were forced to choose one particular aspect of the iON16LM model that defines this machine better than the rest of them, its environmentally friendly design would probably take the cake.
Thanks to the brushless motor that runs on a rechargeable 40-volt EcoSharp battery system, you will be able to ditch oil, gas, those obnoxious fumes, as well as the inconvenient pull-cords and extension cords. The battery will give you up to 40 minutes of runtime on a single charge with no carbon emissions.
But despite the eco-friendly and seemingly toothless design, what we have here is a real dynamo. The said brushless 600-watt motor gives you increased battery efficiency, outstanding motor performance, as well as extended motor life. It should last for about 2 thousand hours, so you'll be able to keep your mowing game strong season after season.
The motor itself is robust but so are its components. The durable steel blade cuts with solid precision. It doesn't feature the most outstanding cutting width but a 16-inch wide path that it mows in a single pass will be enough for your average user.
Lawn Ranger
Motor aside, there's a lot about the model's design that we could talk about. For starters, we could mention the corrosion-resistant deck, a part that makes the whole machine quite a bit more durable to the wear and tear of time.
The rugged front and rear all-terrain wheels also deserve some recognition as they make it much easier for you to maneuver in and around tight spaces.
Sure, it has one or two flaws. The biggest issue that most people have with it is the relatively loud motor that runs counter to the advertised "whisper-quiet operation". But it really isn't that much louder than your average cordless electric lawn mower, so we wouldn't really hold it that much against the model.
Plus, what it lacks in quietness, the mower more than makes up for in ease of use. You won't need any tools to adjust the model nor to tweak its settings. It takes but a single push of a button to get this machine started. The collapsible ergonomic handle maximizes user comfort and allows you to adjust it the way you see fit.
Speaking of adjusting things, the 6-position height adjustment lever makes it really easy to choose the grass cutting height. Finally, the grass indicator window will let you know when to empty the bag if you choose to go with the rear bagging mode.
To put all of it differently, the Sun Joe iON16LM is one of the most environmentally conscious choices. But don't let its friendly nature fool you. What we have here is a real lawn ranger, a powerful machine that will help you keep your backyard looking nice and pristine.

Push-Button Start
On many levels, the GreenWorks 25322 doesn't differ that much from your run-of-the-mill, mid-range electric lawn mower. In some ways, however, the model is better and these "ways" are enough to separate the mower from its inferior counterparts. For one, these counterparts seldom come equipped with anything similar to the model's push-button start. Admittedly, it is a small thing but it does make a solid difference.
There are no pull cords here. You won't have to mess with the gas. There is going to be practically zero maintenance from season to season. Just push the button and you are very much ready to start cleaning your yard from the neglect.
Of course, that isn't the only thing that works in the model's favor. The 16-inch cutting deck deserves some love too. Thanks to this deck, you'll be able to maneuver through small- to medium-sized yards with efficacy and poise. You shouldn't have any issues with different terrains nor should you run into obstacles too difficult to overcome. Getting a touch too poetic but you understand the point we're trying to make here.
As far as the coverage is concerned, the model doesn't necessarily disappoint nor deliver. It should be able to cover somewhere around 4500 square feet on a single charge, which isn't bad but nothing we haven't seen before in other mid-range electric lawn mowers.
Change the Height
Of course, the fact that this is an electric model in the first place is always a plus. It lets you trim down on the carbon footprint as much as the next electric mower. But that "next" electric mower probably doesn't have the single-lever 5-position height adjustment mechanism that this particular model comes packing. With this mechanism, you'll be able to change the cutting height to anything between 1-1/4-inch and 3-3/8-inch for the best, most precise cut in all environments.
Now, this is a modern Greenworks mower, meaning that the Smart Cut technology has definitely made the cut. In simple terms, the technology works by sensing how high and dense the lawn is and effectively applying the amount of pressure necessary to cut the grass. It doesn't undercut nor does it overcut. Finally, there's the model's 2-in-1 feature that delivers rear bagging and mulching capabilities for multiple use.
To rephrase our earlier point, the GreenWorks 25322 doesn't necessarily differ that much from you average electric lawn mower but there's enough here to separate the model from its mediocre peers. It isn't more powerful but the mower is definitely more practical and effective.

IntelliCut™ Technology
The WORX WG743 has its pros and its cons when compared to premium models but, looking at the model's peers that are selling at comparable prices, the machine basically towers above its peers. First things first, the mower's employing two 20-volt batteries, providing consistent performance and convenient recharging. Its push-button start enables split-second ignition without fumbling around with cords. Also, with the two batteries pushing 40 volts, the machine can cut, trim, and shape dense, challenging lawns.
We'll go down the feature-rich rabbit hole in a moment but, before that, the most important puzzle piece here is the company's proprietary IntelliCut™ tech. When mowing thick and dense grass, the tech automatically increases the mower's torque. When you do not trust the automatic system though, the machine also lets you adjust the torque manually, increasing its cutting performance when necessary and conserving battery when desired.
Next, despite occupying an unassuming mid-range sit, the mower's construction can easily tussle with high-end models, using high-tensile, heavy-duty metals to ensure the machine does not start deforming eventually. The housing is also protected from rust and should not start showing corrosion signs anytime soon. The blades are boasting comparable quality and will remain sharp even when used daily.
Enlarged Wheels
Looking at the specs, the machine does not disappoint but also not quite impresses either. The cutting width reaches 17 inches, meaning less running up and down and cutting more grass at once. You'll be able to choose between six cutting heights, ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 inches, pretty standard numbers. With these numbers, the model's coverage extends 21,780 square feet, easily accommodating medium-sized lawns. Now, the bag, capping at 1.1 bushels, is somewhat disappointing. The enlarged front wheels are not disappointing at all though. Quite the opposite, with these wheels, the machine will be conquering the bumpiest yards without bringing about any challenges.
Above these wheels, you'll find the handle, an enlarged one too. Even the tallest individuals will be able to mow the lawn using this machine without slouching. But, those who cannot count themselves among these individuals will be allowed to adjust the handle's length and achieve the same results.

A Capable Beast
The Snapper XD is a beast, something that we mean both as a compliment and as criticism. On the compliment front, this is one capable machine, with its 80-volt setup matching gas-powered lawn mowers and easily covering 43,560 square feet.
Of course, as far as most lawns are concerned, this setup is excessive, which is where the intelligent load-sensing tech comes into play. Optimizing the output based on the lawn's height and thickness, the technology ensures maximum efficiency without wearing down the motor and wasting unnecessary energy.
Now, on the criticism front, because the machine is as capable and impressive as it is, its weight has been increased as well, almost pushing 75 pounds even without a battery inside. While we won't claim that it is negligible, the weight increase is inevitable when you're manufacturing a lawn-mowing machine that can handle 43,560 square feet on a single charge, stretching the runtime 90 minutes with the two lithium-ion batteries that come with the model.
Most lawn mowers make replacing the battery a huge hassle. The opposite is happening here. Press the battery-release button and the battery's ready to be removed, no fuss, no muss. When you're done mowing, the model enables vertical storage, so despite its immodest size, this machine can easily be stored in a tight space in most garages/sheds.
Push-Button Start
When you're covering 43,560 square feet on a single charge in less than 90 minutes, a capable motor is not enough. What you also need is a wide deck, like the model's 21-inch mowing deck that can cut/mow more grass at a time, so you're wasting less time drawing circles around the lawn.
Borrowing from the common playbook deployed across most lawn mowers, this machine will also let you choose between mulching, bagging, and side-discharging clippings, nothing that we haven't seen before. A little less common is the overmolded handle featuring rubber padding. Its ergonomic grip and the padding are not necessarily uncommon but the easily accessible touchpoints are, including the push-button start that we would like to see more mowers replicating.
Wrapping an already appealing package are the enlarged front and back wheels, making the machine maneuverable even when traversing the bumpiest lawns.
Bottom line, people with sizable lawns should, at the very least, consider looking towards the Snapper XD. With this machine, you'll be able to handle the biggest lawn in an hour and on a single charge.

What Is an Electric Lawn Mower?
It goes without saying that we all love nice and beautiful things. This sentiment can be extended towards pretty much everything, be it your home, clothes, car interior or even your back yard. For this reason, the industry of home improvement tools constantly evolves, introducing new tools and power equipment if not every day than every couple of weeks for sure. Gardening hasn't become an exception either. Today you can find tools for just about need.
In this article, though, we're focusing on electric lawn mowers, a practical machine utilizing a powerful motor and sharp cutting blades allowing you to cut grass surfaces to an even level. They are slightly more expensive than regular models, yet, they are well worth the price. First of all, they are much easier to operate, control and maintain. Then they are eco-friendly, producing no fumes or any other combustible wastes during operation. And finally, they require no fueling. Once you plug it in, the machine is ready for use. Sounds pretty good, right? If so, make sure to take a look at our selection and choose an electric lawn mower that suits your property and needs best.
If you own a large lawn of an acre or more, look at riding lawn mowers and gas lawn mowers designed for effective mowing of larger areas.
What Features to Compare
Type
When choosing an electric lawn mower, first things first, decide where you're going to use it and how you plan to do it. Answering these questions will help you decide which lawn mower type will suit you better. For example, if you have a rather large lawn, it'll be best to turn towards electric models operating from the mains. With one of these, you'll be able to mow non-stop without worrying about it running out of charge in the middle of the process. Whereas if your lawn isn't very big, you may be better off with a battery-powered lawn mower. Despite their smaller dimensions, they can process rather large areas measuring up to 0.25 acres and can work for up to 45 minutes on one charge, which is long enough to cater to most average needs. These numbers aren't fixed though and may vary between models. So, if you seek mobility, your option is a battery-powered model, and if you need power, go for a mains-powered lawn mower.
Performance
Next, you should consider the mower performance. First of all, check the cutting width of a tool, as it will tell you how quickly it'll take you to finish the job. The bigger the cutting width is, the better. That said, if you have a small lawn of intricate landscaping with plenty of pits and obstacles, it might be better to consider choosing a tool with a narrower cutting width, offering more maneuverability and "reachability". The next parameter to consider is the cutting height adjustment: obviously, the more options, the more versatility. Furthermore, check what cutting modes are available. For example, the bagging mode will save you from the hassle of having to collect grass by hands, and the mulching mode will allow you to fine grind grass and fertilize the ground while maintaining the right humidity at the same time.
Usability
Finally, you should consider additional functions included. By this, we mean several things. One of them is a collection bag capacity: if you do not want to clean the tool several times during use, make sure to choose a bigger bag (1.5 bushels or more). Another one is the handle adjustability - this will let you use the mower with more comfort, allowing you to tailor it to your needs. Foldable design is another strong point, making the tool storage easy and convenient. Some other extras include a charge indicator letting you see when the battery is about to run out of charge, the tool weight, and whether the mower uses any other advanced technologies simplifying its maintenance and use. With all of this in mind, choosing a lawn mower that will be right for you should be easy.
