The ramp includes a built-in support system for even weight distribution, useful for wheels that are wider than 12 inches.
The pattern for good traction gets scraped off with time.
Owners of heavy cars rejoice, the Black Widow PSR295 can support your truck and help you do maintenance more effectively, raising it up as high as 7 inches. It's a sturdy ramp, though it does get worn pretty fast. A fine pick for lovers of big rigs.

A Solution for Larger Vehicles
Owners of a pick-up truck or another larger-than-average vehicle know how difficult it is to find sturdy and reliable tools for maintenance. Luckily, the Black Widow PSR295 is a great car ramp that can support bigger automobiles without any issues.
For one, the maximum load is 16,000 lbs per a set of two, more than enough to park a reasonably large vehicle on the ramps. They’re even 12 inches wide so even if your ride has pretty big wheels, the ramps should support them without any issues. Plus, a special support system is built into them, helping keep the weight distribution even for extra safety.
Although we like the special pattern on the ramps’ surface that’s supposed to offer good traction, it’s not without flaws. While it does help keep the vehicle steady, frequent use will quickly wear it off, leaving the surface smooth. There’s no danger of the car rolling off thanks to the tire-stop ends but still, we’d prefer a bit more quality in terms of construction. The ramps even have special drains to prevent water and dirt clogs and that’s an outstanding design choice. We just wish that the rest of the model lived up to this.
So if you want a set of ramps for a heavy car, don’t hesitate to get the Black Widow PSR295. Although it’s made of plastic, this model supports a huge load and is wide enough for a big wheel, a durable and reliable choice.

Tall Enough for Comfort
Looking for a way to get your vehicle up high and the car trailer ramps that raise it up by 3-4 inches just aren’t doing it? Take a look at the Nicky Nice 612944, the model that gets your vehicle high and makes maintenance simple.
We’re pretty impressed by the 8-inch max lift of this product, enough to comfortably scoot under the car and do some work. The max load isn’t as outstanding at just 6500 lbs but it’s enough for a regular vehicle and that’s all we could ask for.
Another point that’s sure to please is the excellent design. The surface has raised safety ribs that both guide the car into a secure position and prevent it from rolling off. Additionally, the ramp has drains to prevent water and dirt from pooling at the top. However, we do wish that this model had non-skid feet as it does tend to leave marks when moved around certain surfaces.
Last but not least, the Nicky Nice 612944 is wide enough to support a large set of wheels and long enough to distribute their weight efficiently. Plus, it’s made of steel so you know for sure that it’s not going to get deformed at all.
All in all, a fine choice for those who want a bit more room to work with under their vehicles, the Nicky Nice 612944 car ramp is a sturdy and reliable tool for your garage.

Get Low
Have a low profile car and already heard horror stories of jacks and tall ramps ruining the underside of the vehicle? Don’t give in to worry and check out the RhinoGear 11909ABMI instead.
This short (in terms of height, not length) ramp is designed to have a low angle with a 17-degree incline. That way even extremely low-set cars won’t get their bumper or bottom scratched while rolling onto the ramp. And don’t worry about the vehicle rolling back off either as the tread-pattern on the ramp keeps it planted firmly. Couple that with tire-stop ends and you can rest assured that your automobile is safe.
While the aforementioned aspects ensure that the car won’t move, the patented CoreTRAC non-skid rubber feet will also keep the ramp itself steady. But don’t think that the design of this model is flawless as the lack of drains is a bit of a bummer. You’ll have to clean off the ramp between uses, which is just a little bit of annoying extra maintenance.
Lastly, we’d like to mention that this product has a pretty high max load at 12,000 lbs, more than enough for an average car. This, coupled with the high-impact plastic body, makes it one of the sturdier models out there.
All things considered, the RhinoGear 11909ABMI is the perfect ramp for low-profile cars and quite a durable and well-designed choice for all others.

Maintenance on a Budget
Is the weather not great in your city and you’re tired of your car’s wheels constantly being steeped in melted snow and pooled rainwater while it’s in the garage? We recommend the Discount Ramps 6009-V2, designed to get all unwanted muck away from your precious vehicle.
The surface of this ramp has special honeycomb-resembling grooves that drain everything that comes off of the car’s wheels, be it dirt, snow, or water. That way you don’t have to deal with caked-on dirt on your tires.
The rest of the design isn’t exactly surprising but still good and reliable. You get the tire-stop ends as well as non-skid rubber feet. They both prevent movement, the former stopping the car and the latter keeping the ramp itself planted firmly.
One flaw that is easy to spot right away, though, is the low max load of just 4400 lbs per set. Pretty much any larger than average car won’t really be fit for this ramp. But, as the name itself tells you, this set is pretty affordable and thus a good choice for those working on a budget. Besides, it’s very lightweight and thus portable, good if you occasionally like to do maintenance on your car outside of the garage. While not without its flaws, the Discount Ramps 6009-V2 is a great find for those with smaller vehicles worried about their cleanliness.
A Helper on the Road
If you’ve ever had to change out a tire on your trailer or car in the middle of a road trip, you know what a pain it is. A jack won’t always work and doing it with no tools is a huge problem. That’s why we suggest the Trailer Aid 22 Tandem as a great solution.
This long yet low-set ramp is perfect for quick maintenance as it has a long groove in the middle that stops the wheel from moving and increases stability. The tire-stop ends on both ends are standard but still a nice feature as well.
Although the modest length and width mean that the ramp is a bit tough to get onto your first few times around. Still, a few tries will be enough to get the hang of it and you’ll have the benefit of a convenient ramp for tire swapping.
One thing that makes the Trailer Aid 22 Tandem stand out is the excellent max load of 15,000 lbs, enough for a truck or a trailer. Though the 4.5-inch lift isn’t ideal for long-term maintenance, it’s a fine tool for quick work on the vehicle.
While it may be ill-suited for day-to-day garage use, the Trailer Aid 22 Tandem is a great portable choice for those frequently on the road. It has a great max load level, serves for years thanks to astute material choice, and is convenient for use due to smart design.
What Is a Car Ramp?
If you really love your steel stallion, you probably spend hours in the garage, fiddling with the fuel drives, swapping out the tires, checking for faulty parts, and much more. To make things easier, you should use car service ramps. These small devices are placed on the floor and help lift the vehicle up a bit higher to make maintenance simple. They vary in material, size, and safety features. The latter are obviously vital since you don’t want a two-ton steel vehicle to fall on you while you’re tightening bolts or doing an oil change.
Most ramps are made to withstand heavy duty use even though they are actually comparatively lightweight and can be moved around easily. That way you can fit them under your car’s wheels faster. Depending on the type of car you’ve got, it may be beneficial to use a taller model or, conversely, one of the low profile car ramps. They can even be a better option than a jack in some cases.
