About the Product
Don't let the D3200's compact size and price fool you—packed inside this easy to use HD-SLR is serious Nikon power: a 24.2 MP DX-format CMOS sensor that excels in any light, EXPEED 3 image-processing for fast operation and creative in-camera effects, Full HD (1080p) movie recording, in-camera tutorials and much more. What does this mean for you? Simply stunning photos and videos in any setting. And now, with Nikon's optional Wireless Mobile Adapter, you can share those masterpieces instantly with your Smartphone or tablet!
Before the D3400, you chose your smartphone camera for convenience. Zooming was clumsy. Shooting in low light was nearly impossible. Capturing fast action was a game of luck. But after the D3400, you'll see that you were compromising image quality. That some of the greatest photos happen when the light is low. That fast action can be frozen in perfect clarity. And that a camera and a smartphone can work together in harmony to make the photos you share absolutely amazing.

What customers say about "Key Specs"
Nikon D3200-1 Digital SLR with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Auto Focus-S DX VR NIKKOR Zoom Lens
- 24.2 megapixels. Takes GREAT quality photos!
- Great pictures with extremely good clarity - 24.2 MP!!
- Nice lens kit. Out of the box I'll admit the 18-55mm is quite limited in what it can do, especially as somebody who enjoys macrophotography, but it'll be able to do most of the shots you'd like to take. The VR feature is nice as well.
- 55-200mm lens will not even attempt to release the shutter in autofocus until I do a few shots in manual, just blinks the focus points, then it starts to work. Probably just a defect.
- Doesn't have a focus motor built into the camera -- meaning to get auto focus you must purchase a lens that has a motor in it. Nikkor lenses with AF-S or AF-I in their names.
Nikon D3400 w/AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (Red)
- ISO management is great, you can still get semi usable photos all the way out to 25600. 24.3 mp Sensor is crazy sharp.
- Any lenses you buy for this will work with any other crop sensor nikon when I upgrade.
- The sensor is much improved. Shots taken at ISO 12,000 are very usable. Makes shots in darker scenes possible which is a big improvement over the D-3200.
- The 18-55mm lens is what you would expect from a kit lens and has VR (vibration reduction, the Nikon version of image stabilization).
- This is the only Nikon SLR without a sensor cleaner inside. This missing feature vibrates the sensor cover to shake off dust so spots do not show up in the photos.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Nikon D3200-1 Digital SLR with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Auto Focus-S DX VR NIKKOR Zoom Lens
- Build Quality. This camera is built in Thailand to the extent of my knowledge but the quality control on mine is absolutely incredible. Doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. Has nice grips and a comfortable weight to it. Not an overly bulky camera either.
- It is amazingly light weight - lighter than most lenses! It is very quiet.
- The camera is a very light-weight but still feels substantial in your hand, easy to travel with.
- The camera is light weight and compact for a DSLR, so it is well suited for hiking and biking.
- It is so light weight, which makes it easier to carry around in the bag.
Nikon D3400 w/AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (Red)
- Great camera. Pictures look wonderful, easy to use and light weight.
- I really like this camera. Great functionality for an enter level DSLR and light weight.
- Pretty all black matte finish, light weight, and quiet camera!
- Lighter weight than my last Nikon, but still provides excellent pix.
- I like the size and weight, not as heavy as my Nikon D200.

What customers say about "Imaging"
Nikon D3200-1 Digital SLR with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Auto Focus-S DX VR NIKKOR Zoom Lens
- Lots of options for the type of picture you want to take....this will specially come in handy when you have kids running around and you want to capture the moments.
- The picture quality is wonderful in shooting conditions with adequate light. To be fair, any lighting issues with this camera tend to fall more on the lenses than the camera itself. 24.2MP is way more than you need to produce quality images
- Nikon D3200 features great image quality with 24.2MP and a great ISO. It has a pretty fast shutter speed and it is great to be able to switch between manual and automatic controls.
- Photo quality is great under a well-lit atmosphere using the built-in flash but I recommend using an external flash.
- The quality of the images far surpasses what can be done with a cell phone camera, but at the cost of more weight and larger physical size. The ability to change lenses to suit a particular situation is a huge plus, as well as the ability to control exposure.
Nikon D3400 w/AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (Red)
- It is WAY better than my phone or point and shoot camera. The d3400 allowed me to be able to be in full control of my exposure settings. I love that.
- The image quality with the 18-55mm VR lens is spectacular, and you can go from no experience with photography to taking some pretty epic shots in no time.
- This camera is able to take high quality photos with minimal effort. I still only know the basics of this camera and we love what we are able to do so far.
- The photos are very sharp and then quality is awesome.
- It doesn't have the easy panorama mode that the D3300 has. As a beginner, I do not own lightroom or photoshop and it would be nice to be able to make a panorama without post processing software.

What customers say about "Display"
Nikon D3200-1 Digital SLR with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Auto Focus-S DX VR NIKKOR Zoom Lens
- The resolution on the screen really helps make bold adjustments too.
- The camera itself has a nice large screen on the back.
- The display screen is large so that you can view your pictures and videos. You can also zoom and crop pictures in the viewing screen.
- I love the larger screen for viewing - love the price - love the red option!
- I wish the camera had a flip screen .
Nikon D3400 w/AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (Red)
- I’ve actually been very impressed with the screen on the back of the Nikon D3400. For a beginner level DSLR It’s got very good brightness and detail.
- The lack of a touch screen doesn't bug me as much as I thought it might and the features included are all very solid.
- No, this camera doesn't have creature comforts like touch screen and a tilting LCD, but its lightweight and Very good for all kinds of shooting.
- The screen does not move.

What customers say about "Features"
Nikon D3200-1 Digital SLR with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Auto Focus-S DX VR NIKKOR Zoom Lens
- Great battery life...recharge every 500 pics.
- Enough buttons on the outside to make exposure changes quickly.
- It does have some automatic features, to help those who have no idea how to use the manual features.
- It also has an auto feature so you can use it as a point and shoot. It has a manual mode to put you in total control.
- Not weather sealed. Cannot take pictures in the rain or in a storm (A lot of times that's when I want to shoot!)
- Some of the settings are difficult to follow, specially those involving aperture settings...may be it is just me but even after going through the manual, it was hard to figure it out.
Nikon D3400 w/AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (Red)
- I love the "bridge" feature which was easy to set up after checking the instructions.
- It comes with enough "auto" features to help you gradually get familiar with photography and how the basic camera functions.
- I liked the wireless transfer feature, which is actually very nice .
- I'll ever need. RAW output means I can use the best capabilities of my editing program.
- I love this camera, so many features and Bluetooth straight to my phone say what!!!! I love it 100%.
- They removed the external mic jack for snapbridge a completely useless feature. When GoPro did something similar they made an adapter so you could still use an external microphone. Nikon has yet to make such an adapter.

What customers say about "Connectivity"
Nikon D3200-1 Digital SLR with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Auto Focus-S DX VR NIKKOR Zoom Lens
- The kit comes with the camera, a bag, two lenses, USB and AV cables, battery and charger, lens cap, camera strap, and manual.
- The best thing is the d3200 has a wifi adapter help you to control your cam from your smartphone.
- The camera takes a variety of SD format sticks. If you don't have a compatible card reader on your computer, you can use the USB connection to upload your pictures to your computer.
- Easy SD card removal on the side of the camera, so I don't have to remove the quick-release platform to access it.
- I'm especially happy that the HDMI output allows a clean feed to my Blackmagic Intensity Extreme and my Macbook Thunderbolt for video capture.
Nikon D3400 w/AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (Red)
- However...the bluetooth on it sucks! Will not connect to snapbridge. Tried everything....zip, nada, nothing. Very frustrating. **EDIT** won’t work with my iPad Pro but works great with my Samsung S8. So I am pleased!
- You will want extra sd cards and Battery most likely if you do go on a long shoot.
- The SnapBridge feature is great and relatively bug-free, with few exceptions.
- The camera does not have WiFi and an external mic.
- It doesn't have port to connect a cable release. It does have an IR remote shutter release, but I found that it did not work well at all. I found myself wanting a cable release and not being able to have one.
- It doesn't have an external mic port. Not a huge deal but the mic in camera is poor. It would be nice to have the option of using a different microphone when recording video.
- The Bluetooth connectivity didn't work well and I found that I didn't really use it.
