What customers say about "Key Specs"
Tekonsha Prodigy P3 (90195) Electronic
- Bought this to plug into my 2008 Toyota Tundra so I can pull the 32’ tandem axel RV. This is the best controller I have ever used. Does the guess work for you. Great buy.
- Never used it. Sold it with a tandem axel trailer. Gave it five stars because I could not honestly rate it without using it.
- Works great controlling my heavy tandem axel trailer, very easy install with correct harness
- We use it with a full-sized Ford van paired to a large dual-axel travel trailer, an application where it performed flawlessly, applying appropriate braking force no matter the terrain or situation. Highly recommended!
- This brake controller just works. Install it (make sure to get it installed parallel to the direction of travel - see the instructions for diagrams), set the type of brakes and trailer size and pretty much forget about it
Tekonsha Primus IQ (90160) Electronic Brake Control
- If you need an excellent inertia based (accelerometer sensing) electronic brake controller for up to three axles, that can be mounted at angles from 0 through 70 degrees, this is the perfect choice.
- You can get these breakers at most auto supply stores. My trailer only has a single braking axle, so 20 amps is plenty, but larger rigs with more brakes might need a 30 amp breaker.
- For my single axle trailer, I used a 20 Amp circuit breaker (installed next to he main power distribution / fuse block in the engine bay).
- Pulling an old single axle trailer can be scary. Especially when you have it overloaded. An 18 wheeler passed me doing about 85, I’m doing 55.
- Used this on a week-long trip towing a single axle camper and worked great.

What customers say about "Features"
Tekonsha Prodigy P3 (90195) Electronic
- This sceen has some cool features as some useful features. "Backlight" allows you to brighten or dim the brightness of the display.
- This is a safety feature to keep the trailer from pushing against the tow vehicle and thus not to loose control when braking. It promotes overall better braking performance and decreases the likelihood of jack-knifing.
- With the level of performance it has, along with the additional features it provides, I believe this has to be one of the best trailer brake controllers available anywhere.
- Tons of features but at the end of the day I bought it cause it's the best. Plus it's pretty inexpensive so why not pay the extra few bucks when whatever your towing is worth thousands.
- Single star deduction for sticking buttons after a very short amount of time. Not a huge deal as I never make adjustments on the go, but it could be troublesome for some people.
Tekonsha Primus IQ (90160) Electronic Brake Control
- That is to say, this one provides just as good brake control as models that cost 50% more, and if you don't need one of the features of those more expensive models, there's no reason to pay more.
- The instructions are clear. Setting the maximum braking level and boost feature are intuitive and simple.
- Quick easy install. Simple use and LOVE the boost feature!!
- The boost feature let's me set and forget. I only change boost modes now for driving situations.
- The boost feature has been beneficial when towing on winding steep mountain roads and on the highway the normal setting works perfectly.
